If you aren't familiar with what has been done in this area, don't feel bad. Nearly all Democrats remain silent on this beyond saying we wouldn't be in Iraq if their main product was walnuts.
But the Bushies are well aware of this, and like a monkey with his paw stuck in a coke bottle clutching a nut, the oil interests driving Bush will not allow any action that would let this prize worth at least tens of trillions of dollars slip from their grasp.

http://www.mymethow.com/~joereid/oil_coup.htmlThe Iraqis would have a good case for voiding the contracts and restructuring of their oil industry and economy in general since they were 'negotiated' with over 100,000 guns in their faces.
When the Bushies and even most Democrats say they are concerned about whether there will be a civil war or theocracy or whether democracy endures, they are lying. They are concerned about whether their access to the oil they stole will be obstructed.
Pull out discussion that ignore this issue are either dishonest or naive.
Therefore, to further a realistic discussion, what would the Iraqis do if we pulled out?
