Just voted on an "iVotronic" machine with "paper trail." The funny thing |
|
is that the paper print-out is behind a plastic screen and very difficult to read.
When you confirm your vote, the paper scrolls up very fast and you can't see what you voted for.
They keep the receipt . . . you have no idea what is printed on it.
At first I was all enthusied about an electonic machine with a paper print-out, but this looks like minimal protection to prevent election fraud.

1. Don't let them rush you out of the booth |
|
You might have also gotten the end of the roll - the nature of rolling is typical with even a Cash receipt from a cash register. You got your paper, take the minute to look at it and question it.
BTW, I know this is too late for you but hopefully others will remember this

2. You didn't think they'd miss a trick did you? |
|
If they must comply with a rule or demand they'll do it in a way that only technically complies.

4. One problem with a paper receipt you can take with you... |
|
is that some people might demand to see your receipt after you vote.
For example, your parish priest might demand to see who you voted for before letting you have communion.
Or your boss, before giving you your performance review.
Or the local authorities, before deciding if you should be allowed to have a Sector Pass to visit your family in The Special Western Territory of California.
