5. exactly--it's encouraging but the only poll that counts is on election |
|

3. If a politician falls like a stone in the forest, will anyone hear? |

What is that resounding crash I heard down in the woods? Oh, my, its the Joerock! Look at all those DLC trees it took out. Who dropped it?
The grassroots giggle.

thanks to Lieberman honestly putting it all out there for the DLC style, that the party is shifting the ground from underneath the most fatal oxymoron in Party history. That is important because in numbers- an heart- of the current slates running, the establishment is too well entrenched to make a sea change into a vital opposition, or populist or progressive or truth seeking, knowing, telling representation of the real center. That, more than sentimental loyalty, is what has the herd stampeding down to support one of their own. A fair vote, a primary. It shows how the party can grow and change and at least how it must grow some political sense.
If Lieberman wins it will not be a setback for reform but it will waste more time and cause more frustration. I don't think it is vital for Lamont to win but that the times need some real swift kicks, or the organization will only have more peril and misery to celebrate with propping up another ruinously poor incumbent who cannot deal with these cruel times.

and other fence-sitters! What's the use of pandering to the opposition if it costs you the next election?
