Are Laura and George taking "Separate Vacations?' Where is she?
Edited on Sat Aug-05-06 08:06 PM by KoKo01
It was posted here on DU last week that there was a "Laura & Twins Siting" in Alaska. They were doing a "Whale Watch" or something cruise or expedition.

Yet....since then there are only photo's of Bush alone or Bush with the black Scotty.

WHERE IS LAURA? Where are the TWINS? There aren't even any photos of the whole family at the CHIMP's 60th BIRTHDAY, FGS! And, this poster asked for Photos of that "should be HUGE" P-Residential Event..where all the Bushies should have turned out! At least shouldn't his wife and kids turned out?

Where is LAURA??? Is she hiding or "sweeping the front porch" (as it was reported she did for Putin) of the Pig Farm down in Texas?

If this was CLINTOON the FREEPS would be SHOUTING FROM THEIR FUSTY LAIRS...WHERE ARE THEY? WHY ISN'T "CLINTOON" out there WORKING DAY AND NIGHT TO SOLVE THIS...WHERE IS HILLARY and WHAT ABOUT THAT DAUGHTER. ARE THEY STILL COVERING UP FOR VINCE FOSTER? (IdiotFREEPS would have ManCOULTER out there ON IT 24/7 with FAUX AND CNN/MSNBC echoing their Rantings. :shrug: WHERE ARE THEY???

2. National Enquirer or some such has an article about the D-word
:shrug: I'm sure if he's on the sauce again he's even more of an asshole to live with than he normally is. Ugh.

4. Is this different that the article about
Laura checking into the Mayflower Hotel because she can't share a bed with him? I read that but thought it was just disinfomation.....Has "Inquirer" done another article about this?

I don't give Laura Bush much credit...she seems to be like Mamie Eisenhower and Pat Nixon...she walks through her job and smokes alot to deal with it.

In today's times she did have an opportunity to do more to counter his outrageous behavior and policies. Look at Eleanor Roosevelt! She was a PowerHouse for CHANGE and that was way back in the 1930's and 40's and when there was also a WAR going on.

I can't excuse Laura...for just "standing by her man." And...I try to feel sorry for her ...but after all this time...shouldn't she have left him if she disagreed? Eleanor Roosevelt lived in a time when DIVORCE was DEATH for one's reputation. Laura doesn't live in this kind of time...and Georgie could have found another one and everyone would have accepted it.

17. Oops ~ thanks for the correction

Each week the tabloids seem to be taking potshots at the TRUTH that is happening in the WH. Of course it's nothing like with the CLINTON's but at least they are showing the "family values" of the current residents.

5. I'm sure I'll get flamed here
but I never really hated Pickles. Of the whole crew she seemed a bit dense but far more decent then the rest of them, twins included.

Stepford wife? Probably. But I hardly see her as the type to throw a public scene over any marital problems she may be having with the shrub.

I just find it really hard to hate her. She's married to Bunnypants and that is punishment enough.

6. I understand what you say....I live in the land of the "Stepford" and they
Edited on Sat Aug-05-06 08:51 PM by KoKo01
usually find ways to avoid their spouses with "Religious Retreats" and "All Girl Weekends" away. Their excuse is that they are "Golf Widows" or their Hubby just loves his "football/basketball" weekends in front of the TV.

I still can't find an excuse for her, in her postion as First Lady, though, except that she's lazy. How she can watch this horror he's brought on this earth and still do her "girly weekends" reminds me of the Stepfords where I live who don't really give 2 Cents about what goes on around them as long as they are happy.

I'm not flaming you...since I understand some of what you say...and maybe the punishment of having no principles or convictions is enough. Maybe some just can't bear the thought of acknowleging the misery they've participated in by "proxy." As I said...I live with it daily where I am. :-( I suffer more than they do...and sometimes I do get a little resentful that I can't be as "carefree as they" in pushing everything out of their minds.

10. I have held Laura up as an example to my daughters for the last
six years. "This is the last thing I ever want to see either of you be. You must be strong and independent and able to fend for yourselves..........." So in that context, Laura has been an inspiration. I expect her twins to follow in her footsteps.

9. Heard she was going to stay a week at Camp Casey
Heard that the thought of losing one or both of her twins in a senseless war started over a pack of lies has given her cause to empathize with Cindy Sheehan. Laura wants to express her solidarity with women and their causes.
This will definetly be a vacation from her day to day life.

Pedals to the mettle for a fit, feisty president
Reuters
Posted Sunday, August 06, 2006

CRAWFORD, Texas — Just weeks after his 60th birthday, President Bush showed no signs of slowing down Saturday, powering his mountain bike up steep hills in 100-degree heat and exhausting younger riders.

Confident that a U.N. resolution on southern Lebanon was essentially complete, Bush broke away from his ranchhouse for a spin around his 1,600-acre Texas ranch, across single-track trails that he helped hack out of the dry, dusty environs.
==snip==

“What I would give to be 16 again!” Bush yelled out at one point as he mashed the pedals of his Trek bicycle through a wooded area.
==snip==

After his ride, he was having lunch with Rice and more talks on the Middle East.
==snip==

Bush said he spent the previous evening thinking about the Middle East while sitting on the porch of his ranchhouse waiting on first lady Laura Bush to arrive.

“I was thinking about the right strategy for the United States in the Middle East. I spent a long time thinking about it, went in and wrote some notes, I then shared my thoughts this morning with some of my inner circle,” Bush said.
