DU this Freeper poll: Can the President do any damn thing he wants? |
|
Somebody needs to screw their heads on straight. Scroll about halfway down the page and look for the poll in the column on the right. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/browse

It still says 79% Pres can do what he wants!!!!
I'd love to be able to post a question there, "If the President was Clinton, would you still feel the same way?"

2. there is only one correct answer; this can't be an opinion question |
|
the only correct answer is that Congress limits the powers of the president. Freepers need to go back to freshman government and learn about checks & balances. They scream so much about what the founders intended -- C&B was certainly intended by the founders.
Morons, I swear to christ. They are a bunch of blind morons.

5. Yep, it's frustrating, isn't it. |
|
They actually vote(for a protector who they think will be their dada and keep them safe) They don't stand on their own two feet.

3. The Freeper Bushbots would anoint W King |
|
and lick his toes at the same time. They love having a master to avoid thinking and self-responsibility. Having a King lightens their lives.

7. Simply "Red""Dickless" |
|
Yup, Ridiculous...
These people like to think of themselves as independent, courageous, self-sufficient etc... yet they're perfectly willing to give up all their freedoms and rights and hand them over to their president.
First, that's an insult to all the courageous military men through history who've fought and/or died for those liberties. It's hardly courageous to let your government do anything it wants--just to "protect" you. Rather a poor trade--freedom for security; even if that (security) were what the government was offering in exchange for your freedom (they aren't interested in ensuring your security--rather your obedience).
Second, it's insanely stupid to trust this particular Presidential criminal with such power over you and your families. They just can't see through him--they see whatever it is they want to see (and I can't imagine what it is they want to see--maybe it's a "caring", "supportive", "father-like" personal Presidential protector?).
Alas, we (all of us, and even worse, our posterity) will come to regret their short-sighted, misplaced trust (at least our posterity won't 'miss' the freedoms they will never have known).

everything this country was built on. They openly admit to being enemies of the United States. What a sad place.

|
...."their" president doesn't give a flying fuck about them; Bush is fucking THEIR rights over, too. ....Imagine for just a moment if Clinton had pulled HALF the shit this president has pulled.

These idiots really believe that being elected (or selected) president confers dictatorial powers on one.
At least with DU, I know that even if we finally get a Dem into the White House, we won't just give him or her a pass on everything. No Dem president, no matter how popular at DU, would ever get the kind of response to that question that W is getting over there. That's the real difference between us and them. The blind partisanship and and willingness to give him a pass on absolutely everything is really sad and pathetic.

10. I think most of them misread the poll.... |
|
They thought it said THIS president. I imagine they think they can "undo" the power if dems take over the WH.

15. They might see the conundrum differently: |
|
If THIS president can do what HE wants, there will never be another non-Republican president of the United States again.
And for once, I think they'd have a point.

14. These people are positively stupid |
|
They have no clue as to the basic structure of government (checks and balances), and obviously aren't thinking ahead to what might happen if a Democrat takes office in '08. I'm sure they wouldn't want that person to have unbridled dictatorial powers.

A measure of "Is it right" is to put your most liked and least liked president in the scenerio and see if it works either way.
