1. Totally agree with you.

His hawkish foreign views can't get in the way and he would be a challenge to Snow White (aka Rell).

That was before though. I think he done himself in with this "Indy" talk.

2. Would that really benefit the citizens of CT, given how
enmeshed with lobbyists and the Rs that he appears to be as evidenced in the last week of his primary campaigning? I would think Lieberman needs some other line of works than politics for a while.

3. Would Connecticut want him as Govt.?
Sounds like he would hand over the National Guard to Bush, and support any other request to seize authority there. An alternative would be to gracefully support the decision of the people of Connecticut.

7. Joe has a good opportunity now to become an elder
statesman, like Jimmy Carter or Al Gore. It won't happen if he keeps behaving like a sore loser.

8. Joe should take over Allan Colmes gig and ...
play second fiddle to Sean Hannity. He has a whining voice that would be perfect.

9. Part of why we like our (R) governor is that she does NOTHING.
Edited on Wed Aug-09-06 01:04 PM by Atman
As even the GOP-loving Hartford Courant pointed out today, Jodi Rell is vulnerable, even with her high approvals. No one really has any passion for her, we just don't dislike her. Remember, she replaced the disgraced John Rowland, yet another in a long line of GOP crooks. So we're pretty scandal-weary here, and Jodi has had a few recently. So there are some chinks in the armor, too. But as for policies, Jodi never really proposes anything, does not create initiatives. She is like a ship's captain crossing the ocean while the ship is on auto pilot. As long as she just makes sure we're sailing smoothly, no one gets upset with her.

Joe, otoh, does stuff. He does stuff we don't like. He's paid no attention to us for the past few years, and I can't imagine an ego as big as Joe's settling for running a puny-assed state like Connecticut. It's beneath him.

12. Joe will be on the board of a big Pharmacy or
defense contracting company when he can't suck anymore power from the national public trough.

If running for CT governor would get him out of the national scene for a bit though I suppose I'd be for it strategically. But after his low class slimeball speech last night I really wouldn't support him for dog catcher.

13. If Joe had class, he would spend time backing the Democratic nominee.
Like Howard Dean did after he lost the nom to Kerry.

Then again, Dean is a card carrying Democrat, not a member of the Independent Party.
