CNN-Joe blames partisan politics in DC. "It stands in the way of getting |
|
things done." Huh?
Joe, let me outline this for you very slowly.
1. The Rs are in charge. 2. They make up the policies and the legislation. 3. They sneak it in the dead of night 4. Nobody reads it. 5. When the push comes to vote, lots of ya'll say "Yes, sir." and ask "How high?".
That's not partisan politics. That's me-too politics. That's only R-party politics. Partisan doesn't mean only one party. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to be partisan.
You screwed up, Joe. Big time.

... that, umm, Joe? You've been in the Senate for 18 years. So that makes you part of the partisan problem.
See, Joe, that ol' "I'm running to change the ugly air of partisan politics in Washington" line only works from the outside. Joe, you're the King O' The Beltway, hon. You can't play the "I'm The Outsider/Reformer" game when you've been in the US Senate FOR 18 FREAKING YEARS.
Sigh...

4. So his constituent Democrats should sit back... |

and watch him stick his nose up the Chimp's ass for the sake of getting things done? I call bullshit on that.

5. What an ass. When only one side does all the compromising ... |
|
... it is no longer compromise, it is surrender. (Please feel free to lift this line, Ned. :))
I've had enough of "moderates" compromising us into a Right Wing nation. It's time for Neville Lieberman to begin his speaking and pundit career.

10. Yup, the partisan politics stand in the way of getting things done |
|
prime example: The "Impeachment" of Bill Clinton.
The Republicans (with a nod from Joe L.) decided to stop doing the work of Congress and tie up legislation so that they could go on the record attacking Bill Clinton ...
Hey Joe, which party was the one who decided to do the fewest days in session (in modern times ... not sure about the century), and then tied it up in discussions of :sarcasm: great national importance / :sarcasm:, like flag burning and banning gay marriage (and funding a $200,000,000 bridge for 50 people)? Your new party pals, that's who ...

When you look at the things Republicans want to do
* eliminate civil rights in the name of security * goto war at the slightest hint of possible provocation * gut social services * give massive tax breaks to rich people * allow corporations free rein to pollute, swindle and exploit * lie about their goals, motives and actions * etc.,etc., ad nauseum - see the Wage Slave Journal's "scorecard of evil"
That is exactly why some 56 million Americans try to elect Democrats - to stop that bullsh*t from "getting done". Lieberman didn't want to do his job. Connecticut Democrats had three words for you last night - "YOU ARE FIRED!"

The current GOP senate which he constantly kisses up to is the most partisan bunch of assholes ever. I sometimes think they're actually robots programmed to agree with whatever Bush says or does.

Why does he think we have two parties? As far as I'm concerned his job is to stop the other party from achieving their agenda.
