Cal Thomas: Democrats Are Now The "Taliban"
Purge by Taliban Democrats
By Cal Thomas
August 11, 2006

Mr. Lieberman's one "sin," in the eyes of the Taliban Democrats, was that he supported the effort to defeat the insurgent-terrorists in Iraq. As a Jew, Mr. Lieberman is particularly sensitive to those who have targeted the Jewish people for extinction. But even if he weren't Jewish, he would still "get it," because he understands what's at stake in the region and has correctly concluded that the consequences of American failure in Iraq would be catastrophic.

Taliban Democrats have effectively issued a political "fatwa" that warns all Democrats not to deviate from their narrow line, or else face the end of their careers through a political jihad. Perhaps the few remaining rational Democrats should put on their burkas now and submit to the will of the party mullahs.

4. Should we throw out the two party system then?
You have a choice of necon Republican A or necon Republican B? Having know two Germans who fled the Third Reich, that is exactly what they did.

5. Projection is right
You never tell more about yourself than when you are describing others. I don't know if that is a famous quote, but i heard it the other day and I thought it was a good saying to counter crazy accusations and innuendo by wingnuts.

7. Cal Thomas is such a low life at all times......
he has it wrong about the Democrats and Lieberman. Mr. Lieberman's "sin" was that he was being a republican instead of a Democrat.

8. You have got to be kidding me. What unbelievable piece of ...
... I mean, seriously, isn't is clear that the reason Lieberman was voted out is because the Conn. voters didn't like his stand on Iraq and other issues like Terry Schaivo? Hasn't that been made abundantly clear? How anyone, even CONservatives, can read that and not see how poorly written and childish is is truly is beyond me...

30. No - to be accurate, you have to say, "I voted Democrat."
You cannot, under any circumstances, sound like an educated person and say "Democratic." The Republican Junta doesn't allow it.

16. Hey Cal.Where's bin Laden?
Oh sure. Iraq was all-important. If any of you actually actually cared about a war on terror, you wouldn't be wasting time in freakin' Iraq while the Taliban and Al Queda rebuilds itself in Afghanistan. You remember Afghanistan, don't you Cal? You must, since you use the word against us.

And I suppose the 60% who want the war to end in Iraq too are all Taliban as well. How about the nearly 70% who disapprove of Bush, as evidenced by his approval rating. Are they Taliban too? Gee Cal, you poor guy, you're surrounded.

Sounds desperate to tag the Dems with this shit one final time, doesn't he. He's pushing this rhetoric about as far as it can go. Only the Dems aren't sitting down for it this time.

22. Our local NYT paper syndicates his crap. I glance at it occasionally
when bored and have nothing at hand to wrap up the cat box litter with... I read this yesterday and am still trying to calm down enough to write the open letter to the editor and Cal. This is almost as bad as the FrontPage column that said that librarians were agents of terror in 2004.
Cal has never read prose like mine when provoked and well edited...I took lessons from Gore Vidal's sarcasm coach.

23. What a despicable person Cal Thomas is-Did he ever ask
himself to accomplish this war he would have to kill children, destroy a country and destroy our military in one brilliant INCOMPETENT AND IMMORAL STROKE.
This thing is what has hijacked Christianity and somehow was able to turn 'blessed are the peacemakers" into "blessed are the violent, the arrogant, the proud"
How can he sleep while his bed is burning?:grr:

26. I read about a third of that today
I couldn't bear to read any more.

It seems as though Lieberman is the RWers' new buddy. In both the papers that come to my house, I coulted no less than four articles about Lieberman - Cal Thomas, Ross Mackenzie, Charles Krauthammer, and David Brooks. At least two of those are RWers. I think that their support of Lieberman is very telling.

I also don't get this sudden concern about the Democratic Party. Aren't these the same people that have spent the past six years condemning Democrats at almost every turn? So why are they suddenly so concerned about our party?

I'm becoming more and more convinced that outing Lieberman was the right thing to do. I couldn't care less what RW dumbasses like Hannity and Thomas think about it either.

Of course the Moonie Times carries him, but other do as well..

I think each paper should have to list in their masthead, who owns them and what their phiolosophy is..

Too many people take "the paper" and assume it's a fairminded publication

The more the republican "Big Oil Lap Dogs" run off at the mouth, the stupider they look.

If they want to play the label game, from here on out, Rush, O'really, etc.. are "Big Oil Lap Dogs". Gas prices is the one thing the entire country is pissed off about. We have to pin it on the repubs.
