Will "Osama bin Missing" be captured before the mid-terms? |
|
I very much hope I am wrong, however, I believe one of two things will happen before the elections in November...
1. Somehow the Bush/Cheney/Chickenhawk cabal draw Iran and Syria into the conflict via some kind of false flag operation, and/or
2. Bin Laden is captured/killed a good two to three weeks before election day.
My reasoning is the prevailing fear which must be permeating the current administration and their enablers should their crimes be fully investigated.
Since all the polls consistently show a large gap between republican freak-show candidates and their opponents a massive but justifiable lie will be needed to cover for yet another stolen election.

28. If they're desparate enough to secure a thousand year Re(ich)publican... |
|
... majority, anything goes!
Also, it may be too obvious to believe for you and me, and others perhaps, but not most.
Should this occur in combination with some other "event" many waiverers could again be convinced to vote against their best interests.

that will help produce lots of fear, if he's captured or killed, his fear quota is over.

5. The very suspicous and convenient death of Hopalong Zarqawi |

certainly would provide the blueprint for such a stunt. Or the deaths of Easy & Queasy Hussein, for that matter, who evidently had the same makeup artist as Zarqawi.

12. "Killing" Osama wouldn't change the reality of Iraq |
|
It wouldn't bring down gas prices, fix the economy, improve public education and make higher education more afforable, bring back all those outsourced jobs, provide us with affordable healthcare, secure our borders, ports, airlines, etc. and give us politicians who truly represent the people they are elected to serve. All of these things are high on the list of priorities of the people I talk to and a "dead bin Laden" won't change that. I honestly think they waited too long to play that particular card.

18. It depends on how many people have stopped "drinking the Kool-Aid" |
|
We've seen a lot of Americans "wake up" since Katrina. They KNOW they're being manipulated by fear and they know the government has no real plan to help us before, during or after an attack. Right now, it looks like there's still that die-hard 33% that believe everything they're told and think capturing bin Laden is the answer to all our problems. The question is ... how many of the other 67% would agree? Sure, they would be very happy that bin Laden was eliminated - we all would - but that's the not issue. How many of those 67% would suddenly forget everything Bush has done (or failed to do) and begin supporting him simply because he captured a man that should have been captured at least four years ago?

15. I'm saying that his capture would no longer have the impact ... |
|
that it would have had before. I'd love to see him dead or in jail ... but that's not the point I was trying to make. I was talking about the political impact of his capture/death. I think the GOP waited too long to play that card and they won't get the boost they would have gotten three or four years ago, especially since they have spent all that time building up all those "Number 2" guys as major players. Bush himself has said that he no longer gives bin Laden much thought.
Someone on Current said today that "Al Qaeda has gone from an organization to an ideology" - that sums it up perfectly. Al Qaeda is no longer just bin Laden's organization. It's gone far beyond that and while taking out bin Laden would give me great satisfaction, I don't believe it would affect Al Qaeda or terrorism one bit. :-(

UBL is likely living in comfort, in a country with a decent enough infrastructure to give him first class medical care. The FBI says they don't have evidence to charge him with having anything to do with 9/11 -- 'nuff said. Move on... forget about this UBL, he was just a figure head... er... a placeholder, like the X or N in an algebra problem. We now have every disenfranchised feeling young "medium complected" man in the world to worry about.

Your sentiment though is probably very close to the truth. Maybe the Bin Laden's would end their friendshipo with the Bush's should the CIA double cross Osama.

He's already dead. Been dead for two years now. Remember when we used to get live bin laden tapes?? Then, about 2 years ago, we got a couple of bad tapes where it didn't look like bin laden, and since then just audio tapes.
Bin Laden is dead. His skin is rotted away by now.
