Question re flying with liquids |
|
I admit I haven't paid much attention to the story yet so maybe this question has been answered already...
What's the difference between carrying liquids on the plane and leaving them in checked luggage? Don't they screen all luggage the same way?

2. Because if you have a binary bomb, you can't mix the two liquids |
|
if they're down there in the cargo hold.

3. You can pack them in your stowed baggage but NOT the carry-on. |
|
No they don't screen all luggage the same. Stowed luggage does go through an xray machine, but a hand search is only random, and with all this extra stowed luggage, my guess would be that there are few radom searches because there's just no time!
At least for now, the liquids they're concerned with have to be mixed a relatively short time before "used" so they would HAVE to be on-board with the passenger.

5. flying in liquid is a gas |
|
My favorite is letting all the air out of the BCD and sinking beneath the dive boat in to the inky black of the ocean depths... falling falling in to the black... flying with liquids is a fine moment. :-)

the alleged terrorists were going to mix the chemicals onboard the plane (in the restroom). Sounds pretty far-fetched to me, but what do I know.
