It's been a bit of a rough day hasn't it?

Hell, it's been a rough Five Years.

We are tired, we are fed up, and we are sick of watching this Nightmare Unfold everyday. I know many of us are getting fatigued, and some are losing hope. Every day seems to bring a new set of atrocities, and just when you think the insanity could not get any worse, you are shown once again that there is always another layer to the Onion. Another Arm to The Octopus.

Today I have been reading a lot of Posts from Posters new and old lamenting the Death of this country, and the seemingly eminent end to the 230 Year experiment called the United States Of America.

I am certainly not going to be the Pot To Call The Kettle Black and chastise any of it, because I myself have made similar Posts in the past, and I am NOT going to sit here and say that I necessarily DISAGREE with the sentiment and the urgency of these Posts.

What I am going to do is issue a plea for a promise from all of you, that no matter what happens as we enter the Darkest Hour of this nations history, that we all promise to do one thing, no matter what, and I shall make that pledge as well.....

FIGHT THEM ANYWAY.

It is true that the door for change is almost closed and locked tight. Yes, the criminals who have hijacked this country own the Executive, Legislative, and as soon as Alito is confirmed, the Judiciary as well. They own The Media, and Goebbels himself could not have prayed for a better Propaganda Machine. Had he had it, who knows, maybe The Nazis would have won.

SO WHAT? FIGHT THEM ANYWAY.

Yes, it is true that they have The Voting Machines, insuring that there will never be another Free Election in this country, they can Spy at will, there is no rule of law, the IRS can be employed at any moment on anyone, and the can arrest you at any time for any reason, and hold you indefinitely, and torture you with impunity. It is true that they have all the legislation and tools in place for a Burgeoning Police State that would have made the Nazis blush, and the Old Soviet Union taking notes.

SO WHAT? FIGHT THEM ANYWAY.

Yes, it is true that our Economy is in shambles, but it is being covered up though Propaganda, Money Supply Expansion, and Fed Intervention in the Financial Markets. The Housing Bubble is about to Burst, which is going to finish what was left of any illusory economy they managed to create of of the thin air of their Bullshit. Bernanke will soon begin his Mad Campaign of Hyperinflation, in an attempt to create Wiemar 2.0. The Economy will collapse, effectively for most of us, but the top 5% will have a ball, and will eagerly shove it in our faces, as we adapt to our new indentured servitude as the largest Third World Country in the world.

SO WHAT? FIGHT THEM ANYWAY.

Yes, it is true that the country is being run by Madmen who have no other choice but to continue the fake war on terror, and to enrich themselves and keep their control on power through perpetual war. They must systematically destroy what is left of our Constitution and Democracy to do this, and they are well on their way to accomplishing it. Are they crazy enough to attack Iran? The most honest answer is that none of us really knows, but we do know that they must do SOMETHING to continue the game. And they must do SOMETHING to prevent the Iranian Oil Bourse from being traded in Euros. The scandals have about caught up to them, and their time is short. They are caged animals, and this is when they are most dangerous. it is not a question of if they will do something, it is when. They HAVE to. They have stolen two Elections, plan on stealing a third, have started an illegal war based on lies, and committed more crimes and treason than ANY administration in history, and if given the time, will make us WISH the nazis had won.

SO WHAT? FIGHT THEM ANYWAY.

Yes, it is true they are watching you. Yes, it is true they are attempting to threaten and fear monger everyone into submission, and the threats they make are NOT idle. If they can find a way to stifle all dissent, and complete the Circle of Fascism they have been building in this country for the past five years, THEY WILL DO IT. They are not going to stop until we are suppressed and irrelevant. They are coming. And they will not stop. EVER. They WILL take away all of our Civil Liberties, and they will do ANYTHING to accomplish it.

SO WHAT? FIGHT THEM ANYWAY.

Yes, it is true that on January 23, Canada, seemingly the only sane Nation left on this planet, is planning to plunge the world into further dire uncertainty by electing their OWN George W. Bush 2.0, a man called Stephen Harper. One look at this man, and you can see the fate of the world, and it is NOT good. If this comes to pass, you can forget about running to Canada, because they will join us in the Circle Of Fascism soon enough, IF the Canadians cannot find a way to UNDO what they are about to do. The worry for those o us thinking about seeking refuge in another country is that if THIS comes to pass, for many of us, there will be nowhere left to run.

SO WHAT? FIGHT THEM ANYWAY.

Yes, it appears on the face of things that they have won. That we are no longer a representative government, that all is lost, and that we have lost the remedies to deal with this ever growing threat to not only our country, but the world.

That is the way it APPEARS.

But it is NOT so.

NOT YET.

The times we are living through can seem so daunting that it makes one want to give up, to give in, to find a place to run, to find a place to hide, to go underground, to give into the depression, the hate, the fear, the impending sense of doom that seems to choke the life out of everything around you.

I know. I have lived through so many of these nights, as many of you have. I know how so many are feeling. To look this all in the face seems so daunting, so hopeless, so endless, so inevitable. There are days you want to just stop the ride and get off.

STOP IT.

STOP IT RIGHT NOW.

DON'T GIVE IN. DON'T GIVE UP.

FIGHT THEM ANYWAY.

For even if it appears to some of you that all hope is lost, do not give up hope. Even if your worst fears are proven RIGHT, do not give up hope. Even if this IS the last hour of our democracy, FIGHT ANYWAY.

The worst thing any of us can do right now is to roll over and give in, and just let them waltz all over us. The worst thing any of us can do, is to just give up.

Yes, I KNOW it seems pointless to some to keep writing all those letters, send all those e-mails, make all those phone calls, perpetuate all that activism, beat the street, go through the motions, contact the Representatives, contact the Media, keep speaking truth to Power, keep doing all the things we can think of to somehow Resist the tide of what is coming.

YES, I KNOW.

SO WHAT? FIGHT THEM ANYWAY.

Do not just let them take your life away. Do not just let them take your country away. Do not JUST LET THEM WIN.

Do something. Everyday. Even if it seems trivial.

DO SOMETHING.

Resist. No matter how big or small the gesture. No matter how trivial. Resist. And KEEP Resisting.

Participate in any way you can. No matter how great or small. Don't give in without a fight. Even if they DO end up winning, let us do everything we can, everyday, every step of the way, to make it a Pyhrric Victory for them.

For even if these doom and gloom proclamations were to somehow come to pass, even if there is no hope, then let us go down swinging. For we have nothing to lose.

I WILL NOT ROLL OVER FOR THESE PEOPLE.

I WILL NOT LIVE IN A WORLD OF THEIR VISION.

I WILL NOT LIVE IN FEAR.

AND I WILL NOT GIVE UP.

And I don't want any of you to either. I know how it feels sometimes. And I know how it gets. Believe me, I am right there with you. But don't despair.

My hope is that we will all hold onto one another, support one another, and watch one another's backs. That we will all go into this final battle TOGETHER, and not give into this so-called "inevitability" that these Jackals want to make us think exists, hen in reality NOTHING could be further from the Truth. It is THEY who are in their last throes, and as long as they have NOT won, we can still stop them. Somehow.

Second, new whistleblower protections should immediately be established for members of the Executive Branch who report evidence of wrongdoing -- especially where it involves the abuse of Executive Branch authority in the sensitive areas of national security.

Third, both Houses of Congress should hold comprehensive-and not just superficial-hearings into these serious allegations of criminal behavior on the part of the President. And, they should follow the evidence wherever it leads.

and I will never stop fighting but I can't live in denial. You are clearly not in denial with this spot on post. I wanted to post something here just so I can read it again. Voting and writing our elected reps isn't going to save this country-that old way of changing things-believing in that to me is denial. That is much the purpose of DU-to organize and to vent. 1) If Bush illegally attacks Iran without justification, as it appears is going to occur, won't that be the people's cue to begin an insurrection of sorts? Can they really stop a couple million of us? Perhaps it's time to organize such a thing.

You're right, it's been a tough five years. I mourn to see my country in such sad shape. I am an old lady and will not give up. I'm right there fighting alongside of all the young and not so young.

I'm actually shocked to see so many Americans have turned into chickenshits. I guess they aren't the descendants of the pioneers, brave people. So, we liberals will have to be brave and unafraid for the rest of them.

I would be leaving them. After Gore's speech, I felt a renewal of hope that it was finally time when everyone would stand up and fight for what was right.
