A Lie so big that EVERYONE will fall for it.
that's what we're dealing with here. if you're going to steal, steal big, the more you steal, the less likely you'll do jail time, just look at d.c.

and if you're going to lie, don't waste everyone's time with little lies, like having an affair, etc., tell big, huge fucking lies, tell the biggest lies anybody ever told, chumps eat that shit up. lie big, get big results.

and tell lots and lots of big fat lies, so many that the chumps can't possibly keep up. lie about honest elections while stealing one. lie about nine eleven and the anthrax attacks after allowing them to happen. lie about corporate piracy while robbing the chumps blind. lie about soldiers dying for a just cause, lie about freedom and democracy and security and lie about another stolen election.

all the above mentioned lies come out of the t.v. machine so fast and slick and hypnotic that the chumps start to believe any preposterous notion you put forward.

step back and look at nine eleven real hard again, connect the thousands of dots and the picture you get is too horrible to believe. yet millions do believe it.

look at these new osama tapes, look at what they've been up to, look at the patriot act, look around you and look through the fog of lies, we need to face the horrible truth, they are 100 times more evil than they appear. they can look right into the eyes of a soldier who has lost his face and arms and they lie to them. if they can do that, they can lie about anything, and everything.

13. Mopaul your post was my very first thought on the morning of
September 11, 2001. I immediately knew what it was. The first words out of my mouth were "this is some Bush shit".

The official story is so full of holes and is such a bad story that I still have trouble seeing people fall for it.

And the true clinker is, they don't even respect us enough to stop with that lie.

They show us over and over that they lie to us and they have no fear in it. Why?

Because the lies are so goddamn big.

They have ready allies in the media. No one in the corporate
media is actually interested in exposing the lies that help

Sure took attention away from Hillary's recent comments...just about the same time that it was coming out with tapes of Newt's words. Suddenly, a phenominal speech from Al Gore is a recent memory. White House spying on American without warrants? *yawn* By the way, did we get any closer to finding out WHO Jack-Off was having tea and cookies with in the WH yet? Ummm, Medicare problems .... 21. And Alito would say their lies are legal..FIGHT FOR FILIBUSTER:

CALL ALL YOUR SENATORS LOCAL DISTRICT OFFICES NOW TO OPPOSE ALITO

We have gotten many emails from our participants, asking "what more can we do?" Some have reported senators arbitrarily turning off their answering machines at night, or long waits on hold. Are they trying to hide from the thousands and thousands of their constituents who are raising their voices to demand that they filibuster the evasive Alito? Even if you have already sent your personal message by email or made some phone calls, we have added a FABULOUS extra function to the main action page where you can instantly lookup all your senators local district offices phone and fax numbers with just one click.

http://www.nocrony.com

SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT FILIBUSTER FRIDAY

If the other side can have a so-called "Justice Sunday", we can have our own "Filibuster Friday", and that day is tomorrow. In just the last 24 hours we have seen a major shift in momentum. Today, Senator Leahy came out with a very strong statement that he recognizes the immense threat to our freedom and democracy in allowing a dangerous and unpopular president to install a fifth and controlling vote to hold that our Constitution actually intended to create an executive dictatorship. Tomorrow we need to show our support for those senators who are starting to stand up now by hitting every phone they've got right down to the district level with our phone calls and faxes. Get all your numbers with one easy click at

http://www.nocrony.com

Those you who like to call in to progressive radio programs, we have all their call in numbers too at the site above in the right column. Call them and ask them to talk up Filibuster Friday all day and night long! Let's start early and snowball the thing all day long. Ask them to give out the easy to say and remember URL above as much as possible. Senators have said they are "undecided" on a filibuster. But we the American people HAVE decided and all our senators have to do it get it.

Some senators who are too still too cowardly to demand a filibuster are saying they will make Alito an issue in the 2006 election. It'll be an issue alright, in their OWN primaries! Any officeholder who will not stand up for this one must never hold public office in any capacity ever again. And the difference is whether you will stand up YOURSELF right now and make those calls to their local district offices. Make calls to the toll-free numbers 888-355-3588, 888-818-6641 and 800-426-8073 if you can get through there too.

It is not enough to vote "No." They must vote "Hell, NO!" It's called a filibuster. Filibuster Friday.

Please take action NOW, so we can win all victories that are supposed to be ours, and forward this message to everyone else you know.

If you would like to get alerts like these, you can do so at http://www.usalone.com/in.htm

Or if you want to cease receiving our messages, just use the function at http://www.usalone.com/out.htm

Suspension of the Constitution ... and Justice Roberts and Alito
Edited on Fri Jan-20-06 03:27 PM by EVDebs

During the Reagan years while 41 was VP and Ollie and Co. were drawing up plans for 'suspension of the Constitution' ?

Operations Garden Plot and Cable Splicer were to allow for the detention of all dissenters during wartime and civil unrest; campgrounds (American gulags) were to be created to house the dissenters (read DUers and all other politically incorrect types offering up criticism of govt, even if valid criticism nonetheless).

Samuel Alito was sitting in the Office of Legal Counsel to the White House offering up determinations of constitutionality at that time period, see

"From 1985-1987, Alito served in the Office of Legal Counsel as Deputy Assistant Attorney General where he provided constitutional advice for the Executive Branch"
www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/judicialnominees/alito.html

We must not forget to thank the WH for providing DUers with this salient piece of information, otherwise we would never hear about it and put '2 plus 2' together, to paraphrase George Orwell.

Justice John Robert's history isn't much different from Alito's :

"From 1982 until 1986, Justice Roberts served in the White House as Associate Counsel to President Ronald Reagan.

His duties in the White House included reviewing bills submitted to the President by the Congress, drafting and reviewing Executive Orders, and generally reviewing the full range of presidential activities for legal problems."
www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/judicialnominees/roberts.htm...

Rex 84 and most of the other 'suspension of the Constitution' matters were promulgated by Executive Orders...see list at weblink

FEMA
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/pages/fema.html

Alito's boss Wm. French Smith may have opposed the Rex 84 plans but we never got to hear Alito's opinions about the Executive Orders or the entire scheme to 'suspend the Constitution'.

I have reconsidered my old claims that I would never live outside of the US, out of a sense of patriotic duty. I think the US political system is too broken, and it's been officially "through the looking glass" to routine, amoral corruption since the assasination of JFK.

26. I once worked with a woman who claimed to have a huge yacht
Edited on Fri Jan-20-06 08:02 PM by Carni
Right behind her desk on the wall was a picture of a boat half the size of the one she was claiming to have--she even admitted that yes, that was her boat in the photo and then argued with me when I said it was no where near the size she claimed it was.

She lied constantly and blatantly about things that were easy to disprove and it drove me nuts...the rest of the people in my department (except for one other person) however were apparently either stupid, or so desenstized by her asinine claims that they typically just agreed with her and went about their business.

It used to drive me crazy--but the reason I tell this is because you are absolutely right.

It's the whole purloin letter thing-the obvious is right there in plain sight but if the liar is so blatant that they will insist with a straight face that you are nuts and they are telling the truth, most people will just give in and accept what cannot possibly be true.

It just drives me freaking crazy.

35. Habitual Liars
Known a few way back when. They never could tell the truth, and never changed over the years.

After awhile, they believed their own lies. I think some literally brainwash themselves by (say) going to church each Sunday. They feel vindicated they'll be "ok," and go back to that habitual lying.

Now, reverse the psychological aspect of this, whereas a group of people (i.e.) perpetrate a lie and keep-it going, never wavering mind you. Add M$M backing, hence the circle of lies continues on a massive scale. They must know many will question their own gut-feelings, but know human behavior is as such that ordinary folks will question their own thoughts before literal strangers (news anchors, network news, etc.)

These kind of repeated lies so unbelievable turns people against their own instincts of whats deemed to be truth, shaking their heads thinking "no way." We trust other voices speaking "lies" without question, more then ourselves. Human Behavior has been studied widely and for a long, long time.

Question: Why would you give more credence to others, then your self?

We could be here all night. And, great post.

28. THE BIG LIE
Edited on Fri Jan-20-06 08:15 PM by Clara T
The phrase Big Lie refers to a propaganda technique which originated with Adolf Hitler's 1925 autobiography Mein Kampf. In that book Hitler wrote that people came to believe that Germany lost World War I in the field due to a propaganda technique used by Jews who were influential in the German press. This technique, he believed, consisted of telling a lie so "colossal" that no one would believe anyone "could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously". The first documented use of the phrase "big lie" is in the corresponding passage: "in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility".¹
Later, Joseph Goebbels put forth a slightly different theory which has come to be more commonly associated with the phrase big lie. In this theory, the English are attributed with using a propaganda technique where in they had the mendacity to "lie big" and "stick to it".²
There is an uncited rumor to the effect that Goebbels also offered up his version of the big lie technique without attributing it to either Jewish or Allied propaganda. That uncited quote is the most wide-spread attribution of the big lie and it is usually given in a context where the implication is that the propaganda technique was invented by Goebbels, who was the propaganda minister for the Third Reich.³
The phrase was also used (on page 51) in a report prepared during the war by the Unites States Office of Strategic Services in describing Hitler's psychological profile <1>
His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it. - OSS report page 51 <2>

This is frightening. But there is one that trumps that: "You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time" -- Abe Lincoln.

30. you are spot on, MoPaul
spot on. I was LIHOP but in light of yesterday, I'm MIHOP now. The only thing that will keep me from experiencing so much stress that I develope a disease is that I keep focused on the the Who, the Why and the How.

The Who: Cheney and Rove. Bush is secondary. Those former administration officials who were closest to Cheney, and who knew him for ages, say they don't know him anymore -- that he has changed and has become a stranger with unknown motives.

The why: power. My friend said last night that evil seeks power and control over others and that good avoids it. But why does Cheney want so much power? because he was burned badly in former administrations I imagine. There is lot we don't know here. Same with Rove: he is the master of hate. He desires one party rule and to annihilate the democratic party altogether. But why? There is something there in his past. But what? I don't think I found it in Bush's brain. I listend to his speech today. He is consumed not with policy that makes this country great, he is consumed with polls and how to keep his party in power. (Note that "BinLadens" audio mentions polls every other sentence. To me, that's the total giveaway that Rove is behind this)This years election strategy will be "security". Again. It's all they know. Secretly harm Americans and then proclaim you're the only one who can "protect" Americans.

And the How? How did they orchestrate 911? Are the Saudis in on it? Is BinLaden just a co-conspirator?

If I keep focused on the psychology of these players, it helps me to not hate them. Hating people is the most unhealthy thing in the world. Spiritually. Emotionally. Physically.

32. Interesting times
If nothing else, the Chinese curse..we live in interesting times. Never thought I would feel this way..so close to the abyss..understanding how-now I understand completely-how Stlain's Russia happened..how easy it was for the Nazi's to gain power...step by step..complicity of the silent..propaganda..slowly building and then everyone is stunned, WHAT HAPPENED?

Oh focusing on 9/11 is what got me to DU..my first thing was believing in Colin Powell..not being media savy..not on the internet..supporting the Iraq war..believing my government (!) and then finding that to be a lie..they always tell you in a court of law..if they lie about one thing..then all is suspect...and I did that..I found the war on Iraq was all built on lies..refused to believe..wouldn't believe that 9/11 could be an inside job..and read and read.. and was shocked at how much was hidden in plain sight from the public about 9/11...and I don't have proof but I know it's lies and I know it's all lead to the big lie which is leading us to the America that is no longer anything that we were told it was.
