Question: If Lieberman runs out of money will he have to drop out? |
|
I've been hearing this lately that if he runs out of money he'll be forced to drop out. I don't understand this if true. Can someone either explain or clarify? Thanks!

1. Not forced, but tough to advertise with no cash |
|
It gets real expensive around election time. And he has little time to raise any funds.

You've got to get inside Joe's head to see how it all works.

6. Like I said, this is what I heard on a local CT.radio show |
|
They said he needs something like 700 grand a week to keep going til November.I also heard that Clinton can decide to release the money to him or not. I don't get that at all.

Is this the money he had leftover? And why would Clinton be the one deciding?

5. No, he can stay on the ballot, but with no $$, no ads, no supporters! |
|
All the messages out to the public would be against him and in favor of his opponent, and he'd havee no $$ to deny anthing! It's just as effective as dropping out!
I also think, if he sees his numbers tanking and a possible double digit loss, I think he'll drop out just to save face.

8. It's been predicted that he won't last much past mid September |
|
We will then be treated to the old bromides in his "goodby speech" : "We have succeeded in getting our message across and that's all that really matters"

9. Lieberman will not run out of money. Support Israel policies, have |
|
access to cash. Oppose Israel policies? (as if any politician would) your opponent will not run of money.

12. Between AIPAC and his corporate sponsors, I don't think that |
|
will even be an issue. There are other sources than the DNC.
