talking points I keep hearing re: OBL. I mean come on.... its bullshit. with our technology.... and with enough time... and in light of all the $$ we already droppped on this whole debacle... don't tell me we can't catch OBL.. if he really is alive and in the region they say he is. I mean, if these regions are so desolate, humans must stick out like sore thumbs with the aid of thermal imaging. And don't tell me we are are beyond snatching/swaying and even torturing a few of these tribal chiefs to get our man. (of course, its nothing I personally condone).

1. Tell me about it!!!
Obviously the W really DOES stand for WIRETAPPING since he's so busy spying on Americans who are his political opponents (shade of Nixon, but "the Democrats have no new ideas!") instead of trying to find terrorists. Not that these asshole neo-KKKon have goddamn any interest at all of stopping their boogymen...

2. Exactly - under the guise of searching for OBL. BFEE is hijacking the U.S.
with an efficiency that would delight Stalin or Hitler. They are brilliant.

4. That was the plan
keep him alive and keep the party going. That's why he wasn't allowed to be captured, it would have ended public support.

3. Nor do I. You know, I vividly remember back in 12/01 when OBL was
thought to be surrounded in Tora Bora and US forces were pounding the area with bombs. The Taliban leaders at Tora Bora requested a cease-fire to negotiate their surrender to US forces. The US complied with that request and *poof* OBL was gone. I couldn't believe we had fallen for a 'bait and switch' scheme like that. That's when I knew something smelled.

Porter Goss said last year that they know where OBL is hiding but cannot compromise another nation's sovereignty to get him. That struck me as a completely ludicrous assertion being that we didn't give a rat's ass about sovereignty when we invaded Iraq. What happened to Junior's pronouncement that "we will make no distinction between the terrorists and those that harbor them" or "you are either with us or with the terrorists"? FWIW, I have always believed that OBL is hiding out in Saudi Arabia.

5. You might be right.
I vaguely remember Saudis searching TWO relatives' homes for UBL, but apart from that, nothing.

He could be my neighbour, for all we know.

6. If he is
he would have plenty of support from the legions of Whahabi groups that have supported him in the past, including some of the royals.

8. Bush 41 fails to finish off Saddam in Gulf 1, then Bush 43 fails in Tora
Bora to capture OBL -- WTF is up?

10. The $64,000 question.
Junior can prattle on all he wants about 9/11 and terra terra terra but how can explain away his failure to catch public enemy number one - a 6 foot tall dude who supposedly lives in a cave and drags around a dialysis machine. How stupid do they really think we are?

12. Well, Bush 43 caught Saddam
so maybe Bush 44 will catch bin Laden (& at the same time release a new boogeyman into the wild for Bush 45 to catch).

when one dies,
they find another
if he's exposed,
the case they close
a rug they sweep it under.

7. A dialysis nurse was on Stephanie Miller this morning....
...said that someone on dialysis requires constant and significant care due to related health problems. Suggested that the only reasonable possibilities were:

1) OBL is dead

or

2) Several good medical professionals are taking very good care of him in a medical facility somewhere

He is not hiding out in a cave with no electricity and in poor conditions.

11. I agree...
My mother endured dialysis for three years. The other physical problems caused by this treatment take a
huge toll, even if the patient is otherwise in good health. The facility my mother was treated at lost about
three patients a month on average, usually from strokes.

While dialysis can be done without a machine, it is unlikely that this method could work long term in primitive
conditions. I figure OBL is either dead, or never suffered from kidney failure in the first place.

of course it's bullshit.

"Sept. 8, 2003 — The hunt for Osama bin Laden has been narrowed to a 40-square-mile section of the Waziristan region of Pakistan, senior U.S. officials told ABCNEWS." http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/story?id=129452&page=1

"Although US officials say they have set their sights on a 20-square-mile section within this northwestern region of South Waziristan, they face a number of obstacles to going after America's Enemy No. 1." http://www.csmonitor.com/2003/0915/p01s04-wosc.html

"Between two and four days later, somewhere between Nov. 28 to Nov. 30 - according to detailed interviews with Arabs and Afghans in eastern Afghanistan afterward - the world's most-wanted man escaped the world's most-powerful military machine, walking - with four of his loyalists - in the direction of Pakistan." http://www.csmonitor.com/2002/0304/p01s03-wosc.html

His escape was no mistake. hey, that rhymes. :)
