Why can't the media handle more than one story at a time? |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-16-06 09:48 PM by abernste
Flip through the cable channels at this very moment and I all but guarantee you that EVERY single one is covering this 10 year old unsolved murder, exclusive of any other story. It's an ongoing joke that the media can't cover more than one story at a time, but come on -- this is ridiculous!

2. It's not that they can't; it's that they don't want US to. |
|
They want us only to be thinking/talking about what they're showing us at the time.
They think we're really stupid, and their profit depends on it.

5. Because American-educated Americans are MORONS! |
|
You want proof? Stand near a snack bar or shop in a food court. Especially one with a big sign clearly showing the items for sale and the prices. Take one of those pocket counters or a paper and pencil.
Count how many people walk up to the counter, in full view of the sign, and ask "What have you got?" or "How much is that thing there?" In other words, the people who CAN'T READ the sign or ARE TOO LAZY TO READ the sign.
Having worked behind a snack bar counter in a discount store, a very busy one, I can tell that you will be surprised by the number.
Americans are idiots because our idiotic, abusive teachers and education system - and of course the parents of the students - haven't convinced them NOT to be idiots. So of course the news media only feature one story at a time. That's all our tiny minds can take.

6. A very interesting question. |
|
Why can't they do like 5 minute segments of the important stories of the day instead of hours on end of the same video and same stuff over and over and over and over...?

Mentally lazy, like most Americans. That would take organization and time.
And they have so much more airtime! The news was at most an hour before the flourishing of cable and the internet.

CNN and MSNBC are doing the 24/7 story in my hood.
You want to affect them? It will take a lot more. IMHO
