1. I think there was a

study done post WWII by the Marine Corps on torture or rather alternate means of interrogation that indicated torture really doesn't work. That is if memory serves me correctly. Beyond that there are the facts of it being illegal under U.S. and international law (Geneva Convention). So it's not only wrong - it doesn't work.....
