Until he appologies for his comments? Really that's the only we can get tweety to stop chirping about Moore.

1. I don't watch it. In reality, it makes no difference unless you're a
Nielsen family.

17. Funny and correct. MSNBC has about as many viewers at any
given time as the stadium gate receipts at 2 Big Ten football games on any given Saturday.

18. Absolutely. And
Anyone who stops watching should email the show and say so, and email the sponsors too if you can. I stopped watching after Matthews disgusting, manipulative analysis of the 2004 vice presidential debate and emailed the network.

I doubt that the show minds the outrage it generates among progressives, unless that outrage leads to turning the show off. Part of the concept of these kinds of shows is that success in coddling the RW and inflaming the left leads to higher ratings. So outrage must evolve into boycott and hopefully fewer posts on DU about what CM is doing. Ignoring him is the best policy.

If the boycott were organized, with publicity, then not only do you reach more people, but the sponsors and network see it as threatening.

Suggestions: 1) a weekly post reminding DU'rs not to watch. 2) posts on other blogs 3) a request to someone like moveon suggesting that they mount a campaign against misinformation in general and a boycott on shows known to spread misinformation and undercut democracy.

19. Check out all the blogs re Hardball
MATTHEWS SCANDAL BLOG ROUNDUP

+++ Atrios: "Wanker of the Day: Chris Matthews" +++ Huffington Post: "Equating a prominent conservative activist to a murderous terrorist would bring the wrath of the rightwing machine on Matthews' head. But in today's political environment, Dems and liberals are fair game, either through insidious pro-Bush narratives like 'Bush is firm' and 'Dems are muddled,' or through blatant and vile comments like the one Matthews so glibly foisted on us." +++ Digby (who offers readers contact information to MSNBC): "This is ridiculous. This man is either working overtime to kiss right wing ass for some reason or he's been paid off to do full-on GOP character assassination. This is exactly what the Republicans did to Tom Daschle and Max Cleland." +++ Matt Stoller: "It is outrageous that Chris Matthews can slander the left, and take the threat of terrorism so lightly. I'd like to see a Democrat step up to the mike on this one." +++ Aravosis: "Pitiful. And terribly embarrassing for NBC and all of its namesakes." +++ More from Jane, Daily Kos, Seeing the Forest, The Green Knight, and The Left Coaster +++ Remember: This is not just about Chris Matthews or Michael Moore or Osama Bin Laden, it's about the willingness of a prominent media figure to slander an opponent of the war. +++

23. Biden pisses me off more than Tweety.
I had just finished listening to the Mike Malloy show. Someone had called in and mentioned that Tweety had compared Moore to Bin Laden.

So I was channel flipping after the Malloy show and came across Hardball at the exact moment Tweety makes his comparison.

I can not express the feelings I had at that moment in words. I was nearly ready to pick my TV up and just throw it out the damn window. I wanted to reach inside and pop Tweety's head like a zit.

People may disagree with Moore, and thats fine. But how can someone honestly compare Moore with Bin Laden? The whole fucking point of F9/11 was to point out that Bush was ignoring Bin Laden... Un-fucking-believable.

You know what got me white hot mad, more than Tweety?

Joe fucking Biden giggled at that remark like it was just the funniest thing he had heard all day...

Hey Biden. Take your Princton hat and shove it up your fucking ass you fake, phony, corporate WHORE.

Do you realize how a republican would have responded had Tweety made that remark about Coulter, or Hannity, or any other right-winger? What does Biden do? he fucking sits there and laughs at it. He fucking sits there, and AGREEs with Tweety.

FUCK JOE BIDEN. Get the fuck out of my party, bitch. You have no right to call yourself a democrat.

24. Biden's hair plugs scare me.
They look like some kind of giant squid's tentacles, I said tentacles, that are going to reach out and drag me into the world of sunday morning talk shows. Where I'd be trapped for all eternity.

Edited on Fri Jan-20-06 12:58 PM by C_U_L8R
once Matthews stopped doing his job as a journalist.... (he's not
even close to a hardball journalist). He's obviously working to his
own agenda and is not much of an honest broker / straightshooter.
Who knows if he is corrupt or on the take like Scarborough or Hannity
... but I don't trust him one bit. Not one bit.

(and it's a shame cause I used to really respect the guy)

27. at one point or another, everybody comes to this realization.
frankly I'm surprised that DU'ers are still watching him, after he had the swiftboat liars on as virtual co-hosts in 2004. That, to me, was Tweety at his most revealing hour. and when I subsequently turned his whoring ass off once and for all. It's been good for my overall health, btw.
