I just saw a article stating "gas prices may continue falling"... |
|
funny how less than three months before the mid term elections gas prices are falling at the pumps. In my neck of the woods they are down twenty-cents per gallon in the last couple of weeks or so. This is my forcast: yes gas prices will keep falling off until after the election and then they will spike up again. Anything to help keep the pro-oil Republican party in control of congress.
Conspiracy theory? maybe. But they know that the high price at the pumps has been a major problem for the republicans.

2. Well I just ordered two bumperstickers |
|
Saying "When Bush took office, gas was $1.46."
Gas prices are going to have to fall A LOT for people to think anything has really turned around. If they can somehow get the gas down below two dollars a gallon again, maybe that will make a big difference to people, but I'm seeing that as *extremely* unlikely.

mind you. I just don't get what happened to the doomsday scenario of $5 a gallon. All of a sudden, poof.

Oil has hovered around 70.00 per barrel for about six weeks now and yet the price of gas at the pump has been dropping, to 2.59 in my neck of the woods...
Who would have thought that the oil companies would think they had made enough profit in the first two quarters of 2006 to forgo some profits until after November....

Perhaps they are doing a favor for their Republican friends who, if elected in November, will reward them with the privilege of jacking up their prices higher than ever.

9. Now that we have a Texas Oil President, watch the price of gas |
|
drop now! I remember a republican coworker telling me those exact words in 2000. I asked him a year or so ago if he was feeling pretty stupid for saying that. He made excuses about the liberals in congress closing down refineries and the liberals opposition to drilling in Alaska. When I reminded him the cons have control of both houses not the liberals, he replied that there were liberal republicans too. Cons are amazing whinny ass crybabies that never except blame for anything!

11. In an article yesterday |
|
an oil exec said that if everyone just cut consumption by 5%, prices would fall significantly in 6-8 weeks. What a convenient argument for a big drop in prices just in time for November.

'Cause Walmart's got a lot of back-to-school shit to shovel out the doors.
But come October and the stock market crashes, gas prices will be moot. NObody's gonna be buying anything.
