http://elections.state.wi.us/category.asp?linkcatid=618&linkid=159&locid=47I finally looked on our state elections board website, and found this. Makes me sick.
On Diebold:
. . . .
" Diebold submitted its AccuVote-TSX DRE (Direct Recording Electronic) Touch Screen and AccuView Printer Module with firmware version 4.6.3, AccuVote-OS (model D) Optical Scan with firmware version 1.96.6, and the Global Elections Management System (GEMS) software version 1.18.24. All of the systems, products and versions have been qualified under the 2002 federal Voluntary Voting System Standards and are contained under the NASED system number N-1-06-22-22-001.
The State Elections Board staff conducted a voting equipment evaluation and a public demonstration for the Diebold equipment during October 2005. The Elections Board took no action on this equipment and requested additional information at the November 30, 2005 meeting. In December 2005, Elections Board staff was notified that the Deibold AccuVote OS and TSX utilize a memory card and Abasic component that were not tested by the independent testing lab during the qualification process. These components include interpretive code, which is prohibited by the 2002 federal VVSS. This equipment was re-examined by an Independent Testing Agency (ITA), which determined that if procedures are implemented that assure trusted chain-of-custody is established that prevents physical tampering with the memory cards, then these units are safe for use in elections.
The State Elections Board approved this equipment, along with a series of security recommendations, at the March 22, 2006 meeting." . . .
I am just curious how many states' election boards have approved this sabatoge?
