Boycotting Target? What's the story? |
|
My husband came home and said he got an e-mail about boycotting Target because they will not let the military fund raise there? What's the story?

3. I boycott them because they are big GOP donors. |
|
Haven't shopped there since the 2004 "election."
Or Home Depot.
Or Valero gas (Exxon/Mobile goes without saying).
NEVER Wal Mart.
Having a conscience can limit your choices, but it's worth the effort, imho.

cannot afford to be so discrimate. I am glad you can be, but sometimes we have to shop at the lesser of evils.

7. Yeah, none of those "buy blue" places are around here |

So I prefer Target over Wal Mart.
Still confused about McDonalds though. My mom and my aunt say it's run by Democrats but buyblue says it's republican.

But if the military starts having "fundraisers" anywhere, I'm leaving.

10. Target has a policy of no fundraising at its stores |
|
Last year they got into trouble about the Aunt Sally Santas and their bell ringing.
Check out Snopes for the real deal on it.

13. They Won't Let Anyone Fund-Raise |
|
Target won't let anyone fund-raise, specifically because of this issue. If everyone can't play nice, they can't play in Target's sandbox.

They did something for me that is deeply personal. Let me just say they helped me out, more than once, during a very difficult time in my life - it still affects me, but Target has lightened my burden and made it a little easier for me to bear. If the Target chain is repug, that saddens me, but my local store doesn't seem "red" at all.

16. Our local Target has been wonderful in helping out a family here |
|
that was in a desperate spot because their child had cancer.
I paid their bills for them for four months, and a friend of mine who is the manager at the local Target, stepped in and gave them hundreds of dollars of gift cards for food, clothing, school supplies. Frankly, it was an enormous relief to me, as well as, I'm sure, them.
I'll shop there just to make this guy look good for what he did. He didn't have to. No one asked him to do so, but he wanted to help.

Walmart and GOPers HATE HATE HATE Target and want it to go bankrupt.
