they are fretting now because Blum's book has moved to 37th.... cutting it up, labeling it anti-American. In other words.. Americans are too stupid to read and understand the book for themselves, they will read it (figuratively) evaluate it and pass judgement on it for you all in the matter of 30 second soundbites.

Interesting they don't mention the observation by the expert on Leher last night that the speech appeared to have been written in English and translated to Arabic.

I don't watch this anymore, but read about it here. I DID see the Iraq elections coverage, where Matthews was suggesting that perhaps shrub deserved to be on Mt. Rushmore... Ever since then, instead of the usual vacillating back and forth, it seems like it's been all kneepads for shrub all the time, for Matthews...

Around that time he must have gotten the phone call from Rove reminding him they had pics of him, or tapes from their "NSA surveillance" of him, or he received his latest check.

40. No, the reason Keith wasn't on with them is because his show wasn't canned
on Friday nights, as theirs were.

Rick Kaplan at MSNBC made the decision a couple of weeks ago to dump Rita, Joe and Tucker from the Friday night lineup in favor of running "inside notorious prisons" documentaries and BTK Killer crap and the like. This stuff gets big ratings on the weekends so he decided that maybe it would get better ratings on Fridays. Tweety and Keith got to keep airing on Fridays but the rest of the gang was cut off.

At the time, Kaplan said they'd be available to other shows. Obviously this is what he meant (yuk). He's had to give them this gig as a sop. Unfortunately it means stacking the deck with nothing but bozos and attempting to pass them off as "Hot Shots." Please...

HOTSHOTS

by digby

So Tweety introduced a new feature today called the "Hardball Hotshots" with Joe Scarborough, Tucker Carlson and Rita Cosby --- two wingnuts and a babbling tabloid airhead. They all agreed that bin Laden was parroting Michael Moore, John Kerry and Ted Kennedy in his tape yesterday.

No apologies. In fact, quite the opposite. Chris did say that he'd been misunderstood, but he didn't elaborate. They all agreed that it was going to help the president.

(Remind me. Whose side is bin Laden supposed to be on again?)

They also agreed that Hillary was incredibly offensive with her plantation statement. Rita was particularly shocked because she's from the south. No comment yet from anyone in the media about all the prominent Republican references to the "Democratic Plantation." Perhaps those comments aren't offensive because it only refers to African Americans who are supposed to be too stupid to know which party better serves their interests. Hillary was beyond the pale. She accused white southern males of running a plantation. In Limbaugh Nation, that's racist you see.

44. Call the number.
It is the show's producer's number. I called to let them know that I was a proud Democrat who feels that we never should have gone into Iraq and that we need to get out NOW. I said that to compare people like me to Osama bin Laden was about as low and as despicable as you can get and that I would be contacting their sponsors. I asked what they got in return for carrying water for the slime king Karl Rove.

47. Ha ha ha! What a bunc h of idiots!! Of course Bin Laden will help Bush if
he can!! That's why there is always a tape when Bush is in trouble!! They are ULTRA stupid!

So, now on the word of Tweety and his hotshots, we can safely say that it has been confirmed. Osama made the tape to help an old family friend!! They're priceless. Thank god you all have the fortitude to watch that garbage, I just am not that brave anymore!

I will not email anyone at MSNBC. Stop the emails, stop watching, boycott their advertisers, and let them sing to the ever-dwindling, rightwing choir they will have to share with Fox, and, btw, the Fox audience is Bush's entire base, and that's not a lot of people.

Oh, and as far as Osama being 'left'? I didn't hear the tape, or read the transcript, I'm not into their federal fairy tales. So, let me get this straight, did Osama say he supports a woman's right to choose? Has he come out in favor of gay marriage?

God what a bunch of idiots. If they lived in I neighborhood I would avoid them like the plague. Why on earth would I invite them into my home?

38. Another thing. Have you noticed they never mention all the black
leaders such as Barak, Rev Sharpton among others that have come out and supported Hillary in her plantation remark and said they agree with what she said. Isn't it strange that the only ones upset about the remark are wealthy republican so called commentators who have never advocated or done anything for blacks.

It is no accident and without reason that over 90% of the black vote goes to the dems. There is a dam good reason why it occurs.

Also, Cosby & Scarborough's remark about her having to shore up her left base was rather ignorant and just plain stupid.
