Tony Blankley: "Terrorism still works for Bush" |
|
On tonight's McLaughlin Report. Did anyone catch that or, better yet, TiVo it? That would make an awesome sound byte for upcoming election campaigns.
Very interesting episode overall; Blankley was more flustered than usual, and could only offer cursory justifictions for the Bush Admin. Meanwhile, Mort Zuckerman, usuallt situated on the left side of the panel, was moved to the right--and didn't present many arguments in favor of BushCo. Is this indicative of a sea change?

3. another intersting thing was |
|
that Blankley said that Bush was recently boosted in the polls, because the BRITISH foiled the most recent terror plot. He didn't even try to claim that BushCo had any hand in it.
Heh heh; just realized that I spelled "justification" as "justifiction" in my original post. An accident, but perhaps the latter is more appropriate.

5. Yeah, but I've been watching his corpulent ass on McLaughlin for a good, |
|
long time. In the past, he would have made an attempt to tie the British's success to the NSA program, etc. At the very least, he would have left off the phrase "by the British" so the comment was just, "Bush got a boost from the recent foiling of the terror plot." Watching his flailing performance tonight, it was evident: Tony knows he's got nothing, and has given up the ghost. He'll still make a token effort, of course, but it ain't the same.

7. guilty pleasure is right... |
|
i watch the McLaughlin Group on my local pbs station every sat. night.
I miss old Jack Germond..... and as much as i disagree with Pat Buchannan, he's always fun to watch.
Elanor Clift is alway good too. I'd love to see her smack that smug grin off of Hannity's face anyday.

I see an on-stage heart attack for Blankley on the show during his very old schtick of always defending Bush.
He's a joke.
