Bush Could Not Name 60 books, Let Alone Read them ....
Edited on Mon Aug-28-06 12:05 AM by Blackhatjack
It is pretty obvious that Bush is not and has not been in control as President. He vacations more than any previous President in history. He does not read newspapers, so why is he pretending to read books. He knows very little about the world, and cannot articulate a well thought out position other than to say he is the "decider" and he is going to "stay the course until the job is finished."

Why not ask George to name say 15 books he read recently and give us his thoughts on them. That could be entertaining or pathetic, or both.

And by the way, "My Pet Goat" does not count.

Edit: Thread title edited.

1. Um... I doubt most Americans can name 5 books...
Most Americans don't even know who the VP is, they don't know where Iraq is located on the globe, and they don't have any clue what the constitution says.

3. Agreed.
But other than those things, they know that we won WWII singlehandedly, we're the best at everything and the rest of the world hates us for our freedoms.

10. Don't forget "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"
That was his favorite when he was taking remedial reading lessons with elementary kids before 9-11.

7. I don't know how they reconcile
'Bush read 60 books this year' with the reports that say 'Bush doesn't read ANYTHING...no newspapers, no news magazines, not even his daily briefings'. According to staffers it all has to go into a one page summary and be read to him.

And even if the idea of him reading that many books was credible on any level, you'd have to worry about a so-called world leader (and I use the term very loosely) who would have the time to read that many books when so much else is going on that needs his attention more.

8. I doubt he could pass a literacy test.
Seriously, I'd like to see him read and report on a book live, never gonna happen.
