If for no other reason than Alito would tip court in issues re Bush |

he should not be confirmed. the Constitutional crisis that the Bush administration has caused by its incessant grab for executive power and lack of concern for individual and states rights is much too important for Senators to consider. Their political careers are less imporatant than preserving out Constitution and ridding the nation of the criminal now in charge of our government. Alito should NOT be confirmed.

I agree, you agree. I'd bet 99% of the people on the site agree. But I'd also bet, with much greater confidence, that not one Democratic senator agrees. The ones in blue states will vote against him. The ones in red states will vote for him. There will be no filibuster. Alito will be sworn in.
I haven't eaten breakfast yet. I'm feeling very cynical and despairing.
