Anthrax...why is it down the memory hole? |
|
I just don't get it. If this was murder, why on earth did it disappear so quickly from the news after it happemed? Very curious to me. It's kind of like the Osama Bin Laden thing. The mastermind of supposedly murdering up to 3,000 people and he is no longer important. Am I missing something here?

1. Nope you're not missing anything |

Orwell predicted it - when the news is no longer useful, they "disappear" it.

rioting in the streets of New York after Bush's "Osama, I don't care about him" comment when he was stroking us up to go into Iraq.

4. Exactly! US Army anthrax from a US Army lab ... |
|
mailed to leading Democrats. Five people dead and it's treated like a harmless prank that isn't worth investigating and should just be forgotten.

16. Bingo! After 9/11 public opinion was so pro-war that they didn't ... |
|
need anymore prodding to sell the war in Iraq. And a rather obvious DNA link to an army lab was a little close to home and embarrassing. I'll bet they didn't expect that.

9. I dunno. As soon as it was traced back to a US Army Lab and suspicion fell |

on white, far right Christian extremists, the story just magically vanished off the radar.
Go fuckin' figure.

Who do you suppose did that? It was a very effective way of getting the message across to watch what you say, don't you think? Look how well it has worked.

24. The two Dems that received the "anthrax letters" were also |
|
holding up the passage of the patriot act. Suddenly, once threatened, they changed their tune. Funny how that works.
It was the equivalent of the horse head in bed.

Tommy Thompson, Jerome Hauer, Mark Buller, "Ken Alibek" and a lot of the biological "defense" experts never answered similar questions.

30. Because it served its purpose: getting the PATRIOT ACT passed by |
|
intimidating all possible outspoken opposition. Remember the anthrax went to Dem leaders Tom Daschle and Patrick Leahy. It also created enough fear that there was no significant public opposition to the act.
When Homeland Security was up for debate, there was the Washington DC sniper. Another diversion and fear inducing event.
