Did you hear that Republic go off on Rob on WJ CSPAN now about |
|
whether or not * is being accorded the proper respect by calling him "president?" There have been several calls like that this morning so far. Even after Rob pointed out that the editorial he was reading referred to * by his title, the guy kept insisting that it didn't.

1. Yea, I heard it! I had just turned it on when the guy started... |
|
I guess the guy's never had a writing class, or he'd know that the style manuals instruct writers that titles are used once, then the dignitary is referred to as Mr. or Ms.
I thought it was really polite of Rob that he didn't point out the guy's ignorance.

5. I now call him Hesitant Bush. |
|
As for his nuclear legacy. Historians will judge Hesitant Bush as incapable of pronouncing the word Nuclear correctly, hehe.

2. That's interesting. I seem to remember Rush & Sean referring to the |
|
president as "Clinton" during his tenure at the White House. Add in Bob Grant offering the moniker of "Slick Willy" on a regular basis.

9. The Clinton-haters I knew called him "Bubba". |
|
If that doesn't show respect for the office, I don't know what does.

3. The Repukes are out in force this morning... |
|
foaming at the mouth. How about the woman who thinks the economy is just great and hopes we go to war? The wife of a defense contractor, perhaps?

4. I'd like to hear a caller say that *'s nuclear legacy will be a nuclear |
|
war launched by us with a first strike if he continues to pursue the same policies that has gotten the world to where it is now. I don't think that is beyond the scope of the "* Doctrine."

6. Well he is not OUR President. |
|
I do not acknowledge that he is. Never have and never will. I can not wait until he gets out of OUR house. I never call him "President Bush". I call him a lot of other things, but never that.

That guy made my morning. I'm getting to enjoy the nutty kool-aid drinkers who call in this show. It was even more amusing that Pedro...rather than rolling over...challenged this dude. I knew that wouldn't satisfy the redneck...I'm surprised he found C-SPAN...or maybe his crappy TV drifted over from Faux News. Either way, I ended up with a chuckle, he's probably still fuming and looking funny at the little animals.
I'd bet that if Pedro has asked him what he thought about Bill Clinton, the whole conversation would change.
I've long been critical of C-SPAN's policy of dividing the lines to "Support booosh" as the only option for most Repugnicans...especially in recent times when many have gotten buyer's remorse and have to compete with asshat's like this one.
I'd also like to see C-SPAN put some kind of note on the screen when they take a caller as to which phone line they've called in on.

8. Funny thing about Repugs - they want all the trappings of respect |
|
the correct titles and honorariums the pomp and circumstance when they are in power but just go back to the Carter years and Clinton years to see how "respectful"they were of the office then.
Repugs have to be the thinnest skinned people on the planet.
