What about a Democratic No Show? A CONTEMPORARY TENNIS COURT OATH!
Edited on Sat Jan-21-06 07:05 PM by CrackpotAmerica
I think that it would be an incredible statement if the Dems made it a point NOT to attend the State of the Union Address.

Further, while all of the Corrupt GOP Loyalists are all in one room, it would be a great time to stand before the media in unison outside of the Capitol Building.

I truly feel that it has come to this drastic a point in American Politics.

Just as Molly Ivins had eluded to in this article:

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/01/20/ivins.hillary/

It is time to make a clear and direct stand IN OPPOSITION OF THIS PRESIDENT AND HIS PARTY!

___

What do you think?

If there is a good response to this, perhaps we can make an effort to contact our leaders?

Thx!

2. Yea, a walkout would be good, but I think a noshow would be better..
Tomatoes and Tomatos!

One or the other is absolutely necessary, me thinks.

4. walkout gives the reeps time to "boo" them. no show and Tom DeLay
might send Homeland Security looking for them.

They could deliver their own, honest SOTU from another location and bill it as the SOTU from REALITY

7. Let them boo
It makes them look like fools. A walkout is a way better idea.

You loosely elude to the real difficulty: the Repugs calling in the Secret Service (SS?) and Homeland Security (Gestapo?) and escorting the Dems all back in at gunpoint.

At that point it would be on. And once its on...

8. Big ones
And I don't think you could put all of their cajones in one sack and get even one big enough to walk out.

I would do it, angry, waving my middle finger as I went. I'd wait until the President was at the front and ready to speak to do it too.

I really wont them to prove me wrong, but it won't happen.

5. Good idea
but somehow I don't think they would do it. They'll go so they can leap to their feet applauding wildly every time the chimp invokes God or the world changed since 911 and flicks his forked tongue just like they always do.

9. I had an idea
I was reading a similar thread, and it occurred to me that if the Dems really wanted to freak Bush out, they would each give their seat to an ordinary American citizen -- a nurse, a cop, a plumber, a student, a teacher.

Bush couldn't do it, I don't think. He couldn't sit there and look at the room, half filled with white men in suits, and half filled with a bouquet of average Americans, listening politely but clearly disapprovingly (arms folded?).

He would FREAK.
