ABC Clinton bashing movie claims Clinton too distracted by Lewinskyscandal |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-06-06 08:01 PM by The Backlash Cometh
to get bin Laden. If so, doesn't this shoot the argument that sitting Presidents can handle a civil lawsuit and still run the country? If so, isn't this an indictment on all those Republican idiots who supported the witchhunt?
Hell, the Republicans did more to bolster bin Laden's power in the 90s than any Middle Eastern group. Why aren't we putting them on the defense over this?

That's an interesting, though tardy, argument. See, I remember some people trying to say that almost 10 years ago: that he could not do his job and confront the real problems facing the nation with a perverted prosecutor bugging him for 7 years about everything from Kathleen Willey's dead cat to a private affair between 2 consenting adults.

3. Actually he tried to turn focus onto terrorism |
|
He even tried to push a bill to focus the fight on terrorism and the Repukes shot it down as Clinton trying to distract from the Lewinsky affair.

9. I'm still waiting for those hearings on Operation Desert Fox |
|
When he ordered the bombing of Iraq in 1998, Republicans squawked that it was to defray the focus from impeachment. The promised that there would be hearings to investigate the "suspicious" timing of the bombings, but the hearings never happened.

10. Exactly. Why aren't the Republicans hitting themselves on the |
|
forehead when it was their mistake? They have us on pins and needles whenever we disagree with George Bush, but God damn it, they spent 70 million dollars to create a media circus that ended up in a perjury trap.

7. The Republicans were so bent on destroying Clinton and they |
|
uprooted conventional wisdom to do it. Think of how many rules they broke to get to him:
(1) They found a federal judge to approve the civil case while he was still a sitting president.
(2) They used the media to get into his private life, something that was never done in Kennedy's time though all the reporters knew he was a womanizer, nor to George Bush who had a dalliance with Jennifer Fitzgerald(?) in the State Department. (Though I don't know if GB had that affair while president.)
(3) They allowed that ugly blonde cow to tape the stupid young tart.
(4) They got a special prosecutor who continually leaked information so the GOP could publicly skewer the president and slowly roast him, which created the kind of distraction that gave bin Laden time to build his forces.

those bombs and those guns are being used against coalition forces...
And I agree with you the Dems have enough evidence to throw at the Repugs but they continue to be conservative in their attacks....

12. The Republicans committed a crime of proportion. |
|
It's a big cost we're paying because they couldn't restrain themselves over something that should have always remained private.

6. Yep, and Democrat after Democrat said that the |
|
President was a very busy man who didn't need this witch hunt to distract him from his duties. Yet, the media just when on and on about "what will we tell the children?"
I think Clinton did amazingly well in spite of the fact that he could have done better if allowed to do his job without distraction. Even back then the unpatriotic neo-cons were showing their true colors that being that they don't give a shit about this nation and its inhabitants.

with work and family in town for TEN days. There seems to be a lot of discussion about the "Path to 9/11". Many here seem upset about the movie, but who has seen it? My freeper cousin is bitching about it too. I asked him why and he said that it bashes Bush and Rice. I asked him if he'd seen it and he said no. So what's the deal?

ABC publicized it as an objective docu-drama based on the 9/11 Commission Report. But they included at least one scene which not only, never happened, but is factually incorrect. The gist of the first part of the mini-series was to blame Clinton for everything.

25. OOooooohhh! I can see it now! Check this poster idea out... |
|
The two towers rising over the skyline. A faded in photo behind them of lewinsky, blowing on them gently "Lewinsky's blow brought down more than clinton".
Give it about a week and they will have this on the net as THE reason it all happened.
MY poster: Twin towers, on fire. Faded in photo of bush sitting there reading my pet goat. Papers falling everywhere, call PDB. And of course, all he sees is the goat....
