Iraqi insurgents = Supermen? |
|
I was discussing the Iraq debacle with a friend and something hit me regarding the insurgents. How on earth have they been able to maintain their blitzkrieg against the Occupiers for so long and with such intensity? Think about the basic logistics of it. 100 or more attacks everyday without pause and without letup, 7 days a week, 365 a year in a country nearly the size of Texas? I mean jesus, the US Army can't support and maintain an offensive for more than a few weeks (if that) without regrouping or drawing down. How in the hell are the insurgents doing this? The sheer pace of the onslaught is phenomenal. We should get the hell out of Iraq before we really piss them off...

1. Not to slight our troops but |
|
The Iraqi insurgents have their version of religious insanity on their side as well as anger over their homeland being occupied by invaders. Our troops have constantly changing objectives; the reason for our being there changes daily, and they haven't been given the tools necessary to do their job - right or not. It's hard to stay motivated when your leaders consistently fuck you over.

3. I just got off of the phone with a guy who has had one tour in |

Iraq (so far). I had emailed him about this. He said that what most people weren't aware of is that there are probably over a thousand rooms in Baghdad, alone, where bombs are being made every day. And that the insurgents are spread out among the population and just wait for an opportunity to strike. They don't need a tight command structure, because all of their troops are armed and ready and attack upon the opportunity to do so. He said that any street you walk down, in practically any city in Iraq at any time of the day would have numbers of insurgents, going about their daily lives, looking for an opportunity to attack. It sounds chillingly similar to how Vietnam vets talk about their experiences...
