I don't know why everyone wants this movie pulled |
|
Yeah, it might be an attack on Clinton, but it could be used by the Dems to get the real truth out. They should be getting ready for an all-out blitz after the movie is shown to not only attack the filmmakers for making a film of total bullshit, but they should also start in on the real story to straighten the record out.
I'm sure a lot of the party will sit there and take it like usual, but maybe some of the party will get together and use the showing of the film as a springboard to defend Clinton and let people know what really happened.
Just a thought, don't tear into me too much. I am recovering from surgery and in pain..lol.

make the same argument about all the crap coming from the "liberal media". Where and when are the Dems getting the truth out when it comes to our media?
Edited to add I hope you have some good pain meds and get well soon!

and serve to further inflame those who know they have been lied to too much already. The doo-dorfs who still support Bush will just use it to help themselves sleep at night.

6. In an ideal world, you would be SO right. |
|
However, the Dems can't get the truth out when -- as it is becoming more and more apparent -- the media purse strings are held by GOP donors.
What network would host the "all-out blitz" you speak of? I can't think of one.
(Hope your recovery goes well!)

I guess an all-out blitz would just be to mention it whenever they can. On different shows, maybe an email campaign, use it in their different campaigns for November. Things like that.

Whatever we say after the movie is just so much talk. The movie will stick with people.

It doesn't look good to me let alone the bush supporters who are hearing about it.

If they air an edited, watered down version, then our talking about it helped. If they pull it entirely, it helped.

But then you will have "So what did the Democrats not want you to know?" And knowing rove and his people, they will run with it. All I am saying is that I wish our party would get together and figure out how to use things like this to promote the party rather than hoping it will all go away.

14. That is a bit naive, friend. |

A lot of people watch TV miniseries - they don't watch much real news. Many more will see it than will hear the rebuttals.

18. It was just a suggestion |
|
In my opinion, the repukes are laughing at us for freaking out over this movie. They will use that a lot more than when the movie actually shows. Look at what happened with Moore's Fahrenheit 9-11, everyone here was laughing their asses off because people were fighting the released. Everyone was talking about how afraid the repubs were because the truth is finally getting out there.
It's not naivety, it's called learning from the past. That's typical for a lot of our party though, they don't see where to take an opportunity and run with it. Just bitch about it privately and maybe it will go away. :eyes:

Maybe we don't want ABC spreading Propaganda which is about the only thing comes out of 9/11.. a lot of bullshit and pointing fingers.
I'd really just like to the see the movie about the path AFTER 9/11 and every fuck up that followed and every right this administration has stripped. NOW that's a movie I'd watch! At least it would be a fair assessment of the truth and the consequences of what happens when you let the village idiot run a country.

17. Not everyone in America watches Countdown |
|
I'm sure there are a lot of people in middle America who will just watch regular network shows, not the news shows that political junkies watch. They will watch the movie and see that Clinton was responsible for 9/11 and that Bush was a hero

I'm around so little I never find out what's going on anymore...
I think what you're saying is how it will play out anyway. I'm mad about this because we shouldn't have to debunk this shit. We shouldn't have to spend our time correcting the record, and the only reason we are is because a bunch of fucking liars are making us do it.

23. Yeah, just a double umbilical hernia thingie, not really bad. |
|
The thing is, our party isn't debunking anything. Sure, we at DU talk a lot about it, but most of the country isn't reading DU. If this movie is aired, it will bring it right out to the forefront of the American public's view and then that gives the dems a chance to address it in public.

24. OK, I'll grant you that point |
|
But maybe look at it this way: that's what we're doing right now. We're addressing the lies they put into the movie before it airs and has a chance to lie to anyone. Olbermann did a good job on it last night BTW.
