Nowadays we can look back and get a glimpse of what happened during the Nixon era and it seemed that there were quite a number of people in the White House who didn't get there on merit because they knew what dirty tricks Nixon had played and used it to their own advantage. People like George Bush, Howard Hunt, Henry Kissinger, John Connolly who most likely secured their position because they were opportunists and used Nixon to play their favorite games. That is why Nixon was very paranoid and wanted to know what everybody was saying.
And now look at the Bush administration and the way it functions. How many people got to their high position on opportunism...
