The BIG news is the Senate Report Which Confirms Bush Is A Liar
Even though everyone here sees this as something we already knew, media types listen to official reports like this and trumpet them.

This is far more important than some tv movie.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060908/ap_on_go_co/iraq_report

Saddam Hussein regarded al-Qaida as a threat rather than a possible ally, a Senate report says, contradicting assertions President Bush has used to build support for the war in Iraq.

Released Friday, the report discloses for the first time an October 2005 CIA assessment that before the war, Saddam's government "did not have a relationship, harbor or turn a blind eye toward" al-Qaida operative Abu Musab al-Zarqawi or his associates.

Saddam told U.S. officials after his capture that he had not cooperated with Osama bin Laden even though he acknowledged that officials in his government had met with the al-Qaida leader, according to FBI summaries cited in the Senate report.

"Saddam only expressed negative sentiments about bin Laden," Tariq Aziz, the Iraqi leader's top aide, told the FBI.

1. Of frigging course it is. This ABC/Disney fiasco, of which I've signed a
half dozen petitions to halt, are a great distraction from the real crimes of this administration.

17. problem is that attention is being given to the pseudo-documentary
NOT the other issues.

5. No revelation here either
but the media powers that be pay attention to official reports like this and that ends up influencing the "security moms" and other key demographics that we need.

This is what we should be in an uproar over. The ABC thing is a distraction.

7. Yep, I hear you. I'm at a point now where just the sight of Bush on tv
is kind of sickening. When he's on the radio, even, I can barely stand to listen to his whiney, petulant voice.

Agree with you that the security moms and dads out there need to get the revelation that their president is a vacuous puke who's been lying his ass off for 6 years.

4. How long has the report been held? That's how long the Senate has

known - for a fact, through their own investigations - that Bush lied.

And they've done what?

The SCOTUS ruled against Bush's tribunals...which means Bush broke the law to initiate those tribunals to begin with...and Congress did what?

I understand the importance of these findings....but what is Congress doing about it?

8. This doesn't even scratch the surface.
Wait until the three parts come out that Roberts is desperately furiously trying to prevent. That bald bastard should be in federal prison.

6. Merriam Webster's Concise Dictionary:
news (n) : report of recent events

Viacom, Disney and General Electric choose what is reported in BushAmerica.

The big news is whatever they want the poor schmucks who live in BushAmerica to hear.

14. More Important than some TV Movie to Whom?
If the numbers out there mean anything a huge percent are not going to believe this report. I don't know that anything will convince them this war is wrong. And until mainstream media talks about it as much as they talk about blonde girls going missing, nothing is going to change.

I am keeping my fingers crossed, AGAIN, that this will be the tipping point.
