Airport Duties, Wages Are Source Of Complaint For National Guard

Guardsmen, Women Complain Of Being Overworked

SAN DIEGO -- About 95 men and women have been at Lindbergh Field with the Army National Guard helping out since the new airport security rules went into place.

The Guard deployed at the airport said they were inspired by the devastation of Hurricane Katrina to join.

The guardsmen and women report they're overworked helping the TSA check bags, their pay is late, and their compensation is less than what was promised.

A spokesman from the National Guard blames a delay in getting the proper paperwork for late payment.
