As far as I remembered from history class and books, kings went into war with their soldiers.

So, Mr. Bush, when will YOU go into Iraq, alongside the soldiers who eat steak and lobster but do not have enough armor to protect themselves from bombs. When will you go over there to see the pain that you have put them through?

When?

1. He belongs in
the rear with the gear.

It's why his cronies do so well.

2. Kings have not led battles in centuries
I think Napoleon was one of the last, and then only because he started as a general and only later became emperor. With the development of modern military practices, commanders and rulers have "led from behind."

4. Make him part of the "involuntary return to military service"
He never finished his first term of enlistment, after all. I wonder how many years he still has on his National Guard contract?

6. But those are democratic or republican ones
Monarchs have to at least make a show - Prince Charles and Prince Andrew served in the military, I believe.

And the pretzeldent is always claiming he is "commander in cheif" so he should at least be in uniform in the situation room rather than reading books to second graders.

Amazing how the Shrub gets away with the image of awesome military leader.

5. I can think of several kings
that I wish he would emulate: Charles I, Louis XVI, Nicholas II
