Okay, I've donned my flame-retardant suit (Harry Reid mini-rant) |
|
Because there's something I've been meaning to get off my chest.
Our senate minority leader, Harry Reid, has about as much presence, fire, and oratorical ability as a tepid bowl of mush. This guy makes Tom Daschle look like Clint Eastwood. Jeezus, I am so sick of lukewarm, feckless, wimpy Dems.

Plus, he's antichoice.
I'm sick of conservatives in positions of power. I want them all gone.

3. I agree with you! Although he usually says good things, his |
|
oratory abilities are nil!
let me pi** off the rest of DU by saying Nancy Pelosi falls into the same catagory.
I'm not saying they aren't good dems, but neither one canspeak fluently and get their point across!
I know there's only ONE Bill Clinton, and you're sure not going to find HIM in the Senate, but I know we have better communicators than those we have!
John Murtha speaks quite well, and I'm sure there are many other Dems in the House who are even better! Unfortunately, I'm most familiar with the Senate and can't give names of House members now.
We really need to make an impression on the American voters, and these two folks just aren't doing it!

6. He may be a good beaurocrat but he doesn't even read well. |
|
I fully agree with Ss. Reid's exactly the wrong man to win hearts and minds. He has no passion and no idea of how to put an idea over. It's as if the Dems couldn't find anyone else to play grandpa.

7. But so what? His job isn't speechmaking... |
|
it's to get Democratic agenda done, and that's best done keeping a low public profile without speechifying.
He has done a yeoman job of stopping some of the worst of the Republican nonsense, so we gotta live with his lousy TV performances.
If you're waiting for perfection, don't hold your breath.

9. BUT...he's got to get elected FIRST! |
|
If none of these people get elected, it doesn't matter how great they are at getting things passed or defeating Pub ideas!
I really believe you have to be at least Marginally articulate to GET ELECTED!!!!!!

It's difficult to get a point across if you don't have a point to make.
They are trying to let the Rethugs hang themselves, but are afraid to do something that might upset the Predator Class - which, in turn, would cut their campaign contributions, soirees thrown by Rupert Murdoch, and so forth. The Congressional Dems are trying their damndest to do absolutely nothing - and succeeding brilliantly, I would say.

Another for shit bash Dem thread when our Dems are actually out there lamblasting the right over the terrorist supporter comments and need our support right now.
Maybe they should all run naked through the streets screaming "Liar Liar" to gain DU approval.
Sheesh.

13. Or Maybe Pass Another "Free Trade Bill"... |
|
Or a draconian bankruptcy bill... not to mention the Patriot Act, and all of the upstanding work they've done on stopping Bush's wild violation of the Fourth Amendment. And Hillary's sponsorship of an anti-flag burning law really chokes me up.
Yep, what a bunch of hardass lefties the Congressional Dems are!
