I'm getting more optimistic that Alito can be filibustered |
|
Democrats (except for Nelson of NE) seem pretty united and we may actually, from some sources get a couple of Republicans to vote against him. Bottom line is that we should have well over 40 votes. The question is will some of the Democrats and Republicans who vote against him oppose a filibuter? I also think the NY Times editorial will be helpful because it really puts the arguments on the line as to why he shouldn't be confirmed. If democrats needed any more bolstering there is the new ARG poll which puts the chimps approval rating at a measly 36%. We have them on the run, and now is not the time to give in!

Anyone know the mood in his office? I'm not getting a response back.

2. Right there with you. The forces are there if Dems are willing. |

Like Kerry said yesterday on This Week, Alito nomination is mostly about cutting off access to the courts for regular people.

3. ME TOO. I feel good about this one. |

I just know they are listening to and HEARING what we all want. I think they will filibuster and then we are going to see a Senate fight like we have NEVER seen.
