I need your help DU to stop Predatory Lenders hitting military families
Rep Steve Buyer (R-IN) Chairman of the Veterans Committee will not let a bill go forward to stop these Predatory Lenders from targetting members of the military. These lenders have concentrated around military bases and are around when military familes pick up their checks for payment.

Their are bills in the Defence Bill to stop this pratice. But Buyer has stopped all bills for a up or down vote. I need your help. Call 202-224-3121 ask for Buyers office and demand he protect the families of the men and women overseas.

You guys know I hate this war. But the families do not need these people taken food out of the mouths of childern with intrest payments over 60%. It is hard enough for these families without Predators. Thanks Guys and Girls

1. It'll Never End
Being a victim myself, I know how it can get. Navy docked my pay and we had just moved from Italy so I was broke. I had to pay the rent on a Friday, but Fleet and Family Support Center was closed. I went to a payday lender for a loan and payed it back in full the next pay period, however with 100 dollars of interest for two weeks.

Lots of guys ARE getting food taken out of their mouths because if we are stateside, we are making chump money.

I'm all for this bill, and I'll take a bi-partisan stance on it. It's got my support.

2. A HARD KICK and a Recommend ...
... to get this to the GP, where more will see it.

First, the "We Support The Troops" Republicans send our troops into battle without sufficient protective equipment. Then, while those same troops are in Iraq/Afghanistan for multiple tours, they vote to strip their pensions and benefits.

As if that weren't enough, they now open the floodgates to monetary predators and point the way to the vulnerable sheep who are ready for a good fleecing.

This is DESPICABLE!

3. Calling tomorrow k&r
I will fax them my service summary and let them know that I will be all too glad to fund a commercial during his next campaign.

This practice is an outrage and this bastard Buyer is enabling same.

Thanks for the post, Monkeyman.

4. Contact ACORN. It's an organization that might get some members
to raise hell and protest!

5. Done
These vultures are bad enough in general, but preying on our military is disgusting.
