1. I'm gonna try a version of this with cops. |
|
I'll get a bunch of impressive-looking but worthless medals stamped then, next time I'm stopped by the cops for driving like a moron or being off my head on drugs, I'll say to the arresting officer, "You can bust me, but wouldn't you much rather have this heirloom-quality 'Cop of the Month' medal?" I'm sure I'll be roaring off in a puff of tire smoke while my erstwhile arrester stands proudly admiring his new trinket. Sure, that's bound to work.

2. Or now that I have no legs and one arm missing, or now that I've |

been burned into something that resembles a toasted marshmellow, sure I'll get over it if you give me one of those shiney hunks of pewter to hang of my shirt with a limp sleeve. Give me a fucking break.

3. Don't you know those medals have magic powers? |
|
Just wearing one mends wounded limbs, straightens twisted minds, repairs destroyed lives good as new. You may have half a face and be able to pick up public radio on the plate in your head, but that medal will make everything alright.
