The policies more likely to reduce # of abortions - liberal or rightwing? |
|
By liberal I mean increased access to healthcare for all, liberal economic policies that lift all boats so having an abortion doesn't HAVE to be an economic decision, access to information - like Planned Parenthood.
Or
Rightwing policies on abstinence or denying access to legal abortions.

Study after study after study... and years of experience, as well... have proven without a doubt that liberal policies of factual, comprehensive sex education along with easy access to effective birth control significantly reduce the number of abortions.
So what was your question?

Banning abortion would be like alcohol prohibition. Women would go out and get dangerous, illegal abortions. If you keep abortion legal, while providing information and better social services there will be less abortions, because women won't feel that they need to have them as much.

5. Denying Access To Legal Abortions. |
|
But that does not make it the right or moral decision by any means.

6. The number of abortions in this country have gone UP under |
|
the neocons/theocons. We already know the answer.
Women who wanted their babies but saw no economic hope aborted rather than raise a child in grinding, miserable poverty, and who can blame them?
Abortion numbers have gone up even as access to abortion services gets more difficult every year.
The blame lies squarely on the far right. They're in charge. They destroyed hope.

7. That really is the bottom line to the overall argument, isn't it? |
|
It's so simple - it doesn't have to BE a hard or difficult explanation when it really is so simple.

9. If we teach kids to use condoms |

they will just have so much sex they are bound to get pregnant! Only a historically workable ban on abortions and sex ed can get people to stop killing babies!
I have no clue where the sarcasm tag is, but rest assured I would be using it if I could.

12. We all know the answer to that one |
|
the rights prohibition against birth control, sex ed, morning after pill, has never been about reducing abortion. It's about controlling women. If it was about abortion, they would advocate far different policies.

14. Most definately liberal |
|
Liberal policy includes support for healthcare and jobs with decent wages. The right-wingers have no solution to preventing abortion, just the need to control people.
