"WASHINGTON - Low-flying fighter jets and other military aircraft are scheduled to run a series of training exercises around Washington early Monday morning.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command is conducting the training exercises over the Potomac River and around the city.

The exercise is designed to test NORAD's ability to intercept and identify aircraft that could pose a threat to the nation's capital. It involves several small Cessna aircraft and Learjets as well as an F-16 fighter jet and a Blackhawk helicopter.



NORAD has conducted such exercises throughout the U-S and Canada since the September Eleventh terrorist attacks. The exercises also help prepare for major events including the president's State of the Union speech later this month. "

6. It was answered. All but something like 5 aircraft were doing a training

exercise just like this. The theme of the exercise is "what would we do if aircraft were hyjacked". The military had almost every single defense aircraft in the air that day with fake or no bombs. There were on a couple of aircraft - 3 to 5 - that were actually armed that day. Person in charge of the exercise: Cheney. They made us literally defenseless that day. The air traffic controllers were having problems because there were "fake" hijacked aircraft on their screens and they couldn't tell the real from the fake.

they were playing war games similar to this one.

when NORAD got the call, with the war games they were looking at over 20+ possible hijacked planes, they had no idea where to go.
