DUers who work in the field of medicine. Are you appalled that |
|
a physician in a leadership role would just do everything possible to move *'s torture program forward without one whimper of protest? I just find it amazing that noone questions Frist's adherence to his oath and to medical ethics. I realize that there's a snowballs chance in Hades that the AMA would sanction him but does the medical community even discuss this?

He's not a doctor, he's a politician. A really LAME politician. I don't know where he got his medical training, but I have yet to see any evidence of intelligence or ethics from this jerk.

4. Harvard Med '78.. I wonder if his doctor dad "helped". He must have slept |

through or wiggled out of the Ethics classes. With his stance on torture I wonder if he wiggled out of pledging the Physicians Oath as well, if not it seems that he "forgot" it.
I can't imagine any of those I knew years ago when still in nursing or the ones I know now as a patient condoning torture. We took a pledge to heal, not harm.

2. Having known a few political physicians... |
|
in my career, I've always been appalled at their primary motivations: fame, power, money, sex, etc. For them, healthcare is for personal gain.

But always relevant. There have been doctors approving mass carnage, including the certain killing and maiming of small children, probably for as long as there have been doctors. IIRC, Ed Bradley reported once on 60 Minutes that about half the doctors in Germany at the time became Nazis.
