"October surprise" threads are stupid |

It's a worn out term and sounds paranoid

4. So what do you call bin Laden's videotape from election '04? |
|
If that wasn't a classic (and predictable) "October Surprise" I don't know what is.

Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.

11. Gary Hart knows more about global terrorism than just about anyone else. |
|
If he believes BushInc is up to something on this issue, it's best to give Hart a hearing.
Ever hear of the Hart-Rudman Report on Global Terror - the report that would have PREVENTED 9-11?

13. So is your thread, nah, nah, |
|
What's wrong with worrying about what kkkkarl will do - he's a nasty tricker, and so countering him is one legit concern, among many. We all know the American public has the attention span of a five year old, so what happens in Oct. is all that matters. Bet kkkarl knows that and makes plans based on it. Nothing paranoid about realizing that.

16. Okay....There's still time for a September Surprise |
|
Or maybe just an "Autumn Surprise."
It seems more realistic to me than it would have in the past. It moved beyond the realm of paranoia after Autumn of 02. Remember how the debate over invading Iraq "just happened" to precede an election?

17. No, its "immunization" |
|
The more we talk about and speculate on Rove's October surprise, the more likely the general public is to reject it when it happens.
