Rep REYNOLDS Recieved $100,000 From FOLEY After Hearing About E-Mails!
Edited on Sun Oct-01-06 12:44 PM by kpete
Rep REYNOLDS Rec

Oh My

From the New York State Democratic Committee:

Rep. Reynolds' NRCC received $100,000 from disgraced Rep. Foley in July, after he learned about Foley's inappropriate emails with minors

As reported yesterday, Reynolds declined to report the inappropriate emails to authorities or act on them -- now we may know why

During the same period Rep. Tom Reynolds was keeping Mark Foley's inappropriate emails with minors secret, his campaign committee coffers received a $100,000 donation from Foley, it was revealed today. Reynolds has come under fire for knowing about the inappropriate emails for many months and covering it up to protect his colleague who has since been forced to resign.

Considering that seat was vulnerable even before this scandal broke, perhaps they've been out causing it to be vulnerable and don't have the funds to pay a webmaster.

Perhaps we should send him a few bucks, eh?

The March date refers to the date of his speech announcing his candidacy. I clicked on "videos" down below and there's one from September on there.

However... he has nothing listed under his events schedule. :(

39. Jack Davis
is a very centrist, probably corporatist DLC-DINO type "Democrat". He's wealthy and is running for the second time against Reynolds, whom he did better than expected against 2 years ago. Davis is not a progressive, but considering who he's running against, I'm most likely going to do some phone banking on his behalf as we get closer to the election. I live in an adjoining district and wouldn't be able to face myself in the morning after the election if I don't do something NOW to help bring about the defeat of the detestable Mr. Reynolds.

6. And Reynolds' Chief of Staff is advising Foley WTF?
Mr. Reynolds, why is your chief of staff advising a child sex predator?
by John in DC - 10/01/2006 12:29:00 PM

Congressman Tom Reynold (R-NY) has some explaining to do.

He claims that when he was informed about the Foley page scandal he did his due diligence. But did he really? We now learn from the Palm Beach Post that Reynolds' chief of staff, Kirk Fordham (former chief of staff and campaign manager to Mark Foley for ten years) "returned to Foley's side to advise him during the past couple of days."

Really?

Tom Reynolds' chief of staff has been advising a child sex predator? A sex predator who Reynolds would like us to believe he dealt with in an appropriate and impartial and objective manner?

A few questions for Mr. Reynolds, assuming the Palm Beach story is accurate:

1. Did Reynolds approve of his chief of staff returning to the side of a child sex predator to, not comfort him, but ADVISE him?

2. Did his staffer assist this child sex predator on the government dime? During government work hours?

3. Did Mr. Reynolds know at all that his chief of staff was advising the sex predator?

4. If so, did Mr. Reynolds try to dissuade his chief of staff from assisting the sex predator, or in any other way did Reynolds let his concern be known?

5. Did Mr. Reynolds' chief of staff influence Reynolds' handling of the Foley scandal this spring when Reynolds became aware of the scandal?

6. Reynolds would have us believe that he only found out about the scandal this spring. Are we to believe that Reynolds' chief of staff, who was Foley's top aide for ten years, didn't get wind of this scandal last fall when it became known in Senate leadership circles? That Foley himself didn't tell the former chief of staff? And if the staffer knew, are we to believe he didn't tell his bos, Mr. Reynolds - and if not, why not?

7. Is your chief of staff's close connection to Mr. Foley the reason you, this morning, in an interview with the local Buffalo press tried to downplay the suffering of the victim in this case?

You suggest that Mr. Alexander told you the victim only had "some discomfort" over the emails from Foley. In fact, the victim said he was "freaked out," that the emails were "sick" (he repeated the word 13 times), and the child victim asked that the congressman be informed. That hardly constitutes "some discomfort."

Did Mr. Alexander downplay the victim's suffering, or did you?

8. And now that you know your chief of staff has been advising a child sex predator, what do you plan on doing about it?

Now how does he go? Does he get pushed under the bus to immediately resign? (Magic 8 ball says: Possibly), Does he ignore it all and get his ass handed to him by the voters in November? (Magic 8 ball says: Dobutful). Or does he resign from his committee posts, including the RNCC and become a back bencher and finish out the term so he can collect a full pension and benefits? (Magic 8 ball says: We have a winner).

He took a bribe to cover up a child molestation.

Anyone know if Hastert took a similar bribe?

Pigs. Reynolds should be indicted to for child endangerment, for taking a bribe not to report a crime. As should Hastert if he too covered this up.

Also, has anyone begun digging into Hastert's time as a middle school wrestling coach? Fertile grounds. Covering for a child molester may indicate someone has their own demons to worry about.

This is a conspiracy to obstruct justice.

but the limit on donations to party committees in $26,700.

51. Come on people, we can beat Tom Reynolds
he beat Jack Davis in 2004 with 55.6% of the vote. This time we know he's taking bribes from gay pedophiles.

This is moderate Western NY, the Rochester area, and Jack is kind of moderate but I'll support him over Reynolds any day.

Jack Davis is endorsed by the Democratic, Independence, and Working Families parties (combo of moderate and liberal): www.jackdavis.org

Tom Reynolds is endorsed by the Republican and Conservative parties (right wing lunacy): www.reynolds.house.gov

It is important to snipe the Republican leadership and cut them off like they did with Tom Daschle. We got rid of Tom Delay. We will get rid of Rick Santorum this year and Frist has declined to run for re-election. There's nothing we can do about Denny Hastert or Mitch McConnell because of their extreme right wing constituencies, BUT WE CAN BEAT TOM REYNOLDS THIS YEAR IF WE PUT OUR MINDS TO IT!!!

Go with the gay pedophile bribery issue and run with it. This is our chance to beat this sick bastard. This is bad year for corrupt crooks named Tom. Tom is a conservative congressman in a moderate district so we can aggressively knock him down.

§ Tom Reynolds (age 55). As head of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), Reynolds breakfasts with Karl Rove and lunches with Dick Cheney. When Reynolds inherited the upstate New York seat of DeLay ally Bill Paxon (now a top K Street lobbyist), DeLay said he “made sure had every opportunity presented to him to exploit his abilities.” Reynolds became the only freshman to become a deputy on DeLay’s whip team and only the second newcomer ever named to the House Rules Committee, which controls House debate. In 2001 DeLay personally persuaded New York Republicans to draw Reynolds a more Republican district. With DeLay’s backing, Reynolds became a player on the Ways and Means Committee, cultivating a plum fundraising base, and chair of the NRCC, helping to expand the GOP majority in 2004. He emulated DeLay’s fundraising prowess–coming up with $1 million for House Republicans in the last election–and replicated his lavish lifestyle. In the past three years, Reynolds has taken more lobbyist-funded trips than return visits to his district. Small wonder that Reynolds calls DeLay “a darn good mentor of mine.” He’s frequently mentioned as a possible future Speaker of the House.

he just reeks of corruption. People just vote for him because he has an R next to his name.

Jack Davis comes across as a decent guy who actually cares about creating jobs in the district. He thinks globally and acts locally. Tom Reynolds only thinks about his own needs. I want Jack Davis to win.
