HEADLINE: Bush battens down for hurricane Woodward

THE White House is bracing for a week of damage control after the publication of State of Denial by investigative journalist Bob Woodward, of Watergate fame. In it he describes the Bush Administration as dysfunctional and faction-ridden.

Woodward also takes aim at an "intellectually incurious" President George Bush and senior officials who have continually misled people about the violence and the strength of the insurgency in Iraq...

There are some minor but interesting revelations. Mr Bush and his senior adviser, Karl Rove, for instance, enjoy fart jokes, which they sometimes swap in the middle of Oval Office meetings. Mr Rove, when bored, plays with a battery-powered "Redneck Horn", which can be attached to a car dashboard.

When you press a button, it rattles off such obscenities as: "What race are you in, shithead" and "Put the cell phone down, dickhead". Mr Bush, Woodward implies, found the toy amusing.

3. Woodward previously wrote two puff piece books on this Administration

and while that irritated me at the time, that gives him political cover to refute charges that he has an inherent bias against Team Baby Bush.

4. I noted that Woodward is scheduled to be on

MTP next Sunday if memory serves, so this thing is going to be in the news cycles for awhile. Woodward has a good publicist it seems and has him strategically scheduled to sell as many books as he can (which is of course his or her job). Should be a fun week for the Republican Party combined with Typhoon Foley that may or may not decrease in velocity.

He could have in 2004. Someone told ole Bob to roll King George in 2006. Just like he rolled Nixon (who deserved it) when told Bob is smacking down junior.

It is a toss up who is more despicable Woodward or Bush. On second thought Bush is the premier political criminal produced in the United States. May he be arrested as a terrorist and disallowed his Constitutional Rights. I hope they also find charges to use against Woodward and he is waterboarded.

Whenever I watch him I get the distinct feeling that it was the OTHER writer that did all the work. He seems to know nothing, and I was OUTRAGED when during the Christmas Holidays I walked into the bookstore and saw that OBSCENE Billboard, of all his Books lined up facing the street, with Bush's Insane face on it, PUSHING FOR WAR.

I actually asked the manager if that was Appropriate during the season of Peace, like "Whatever happened to Peace on earth, Good will to MAN?"

But, gee, it was CORPORATE POLICY.

Fuck them. ALL of them. Jail them, if you want PEACE.
