Republicans using fear tactics in wake of Foley scandal. Dems must fight |
|
back with simple facts. Heard all the conservative pundits trying to blame the Foley crap on political conspiracy by the Dems to take back Congress and raise taxes and lose the war and grow the government. I was astounded that these things were said by more than one pundit tonight which means these are the new talking points to scare Republicans to come out and vote. But I am even more astounded that the Democrats don't seem to have a response prepared. They need to point out that Democrats will not raise taxes on the middle and lower class, the war is already lost, and the record shows that government grows and has grown much more under Republican administrations than under Democrats and they can use the figures from Reagan, Bush, and Bush vs Carter and Clinton to prove it. AND the Democrats need to use some fearmongering of their own and bring up Social Security privatization and healthcare issues and the manipulation of energy resources and prices. What the hell are they waiting for? All they seem to be able to do is to follow the lead of RW talking pundits.

3. Maybe the Dems should just laugh in their faces when they say that. |
|
Loudly and publicly, at every opportunity.
I'm damn serious. It would work.

4. Conservative pundits? I just heard the idea put forth on CNN. They sort |
|
of debunked it, but not really. If the Dems don't step up and fight back at this, then the Repukes are going to sell that slop.
Someone needs to say that the Dems wouldn't have had to hold onto anything nor would they have had anything to release if the Repukes had just done their jobs and taken care of it a year ago.

5. If you are going to rail against the Democratic party then be specific |
|
address the efforts they've made and suggest where they can improve. This broad attack on 'Democrats' is just mis-appropriated rhetoric which obscures all of the perfectly adequate responses given to almost every republican initiative and action so far.
I just see your complaint about Democrat's actions. Let's see your best stab at these issues. Spell it out for us in the way that you expect our leaders to.
The most frustrating thing for me is how folks will ignore the words and actions of our leaders, never bother to go and find out what they are actually saying and doing, and never seem to promote ANY of their efforts here at all. But, let a republican say something . . .
