3. I heard this sad fact on the news several times today, though
you're right, not nearly enough considering the loss. It's never enough.

Welcome to DU on this sad note.

5. Well, ABC News said 14 had died "this month."
Not "this week" (that total would have been higher) or the first 3 days. Nice spin, eh?

6. I heard it several times today, actually.
In fact, in several news spots, it was ahead of anything about Foley. Don't worry, sludge man. We won't forget about Iraq.

Welcome to DU, btw.

7. This is what the Dems should call a news conferece over: 14 killed
in three days and this administration is embroiled in one corruption scandal after another. While the press is all tied up over Foley's contemptuous acts, there is virtually no coverage of the loss of 14 US soldiers in Iraq in the last 3 days.

9. They really support the troops, don't they?
My prayers to their families. And to the wounded and their families, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

The Republicans DO NOT support our troops. They run them into the ground. And when they return, they look at them like a burden. I know the Democrats would change this. We would not worry about giving tax cuts to the wealthiest, but we would worry about providing for our soldiers.

10. no word of anything on the news PBS is the only station
where they will show pictures of the dead soldiers, 12 more listed tonite, all in their 20's for a freaking lie. Not like the days when you saw Vietnam every night on the news right in your living room. The media just sucks, no wonder there are so many Americans just living in ignorance.

11. The only people who don't know how many troops we've lost lately
are the same ones that never know. It's not something they pay attention to. They are the Faux watchers. They are oblivious.

We always know.

12. That's because
according to Rumsfeld, our troops are "fungible".
