Where is David Drier Hiding? He's Up for Re-Election and Can't Be Found.

Just as Phil and Wendy Gramm went into hiding after Enron, David Drier, the closeted homosexual Congressman from California seems to have "disappeared".

How is it that Congressman Drier, who covets his television appearances and close relationships with the news organizations is now nowhere to be found?

This man is once again up for re-election against a superb candidate and the media is letting him skate.

Is there anything we can do here at the DU to flush him out of his bunker-like closet?

5. He's gay and closeted like Foley. He likely doesn't want anyone asking

him about that. It's common knowledge that he is partnered with his Chief of Staff, Brad Smith I think his name is, who makes almost as much as the WH Chief of Staff. The two of them live together in a very nice DC apartment...but it could possibly be that they are using the recess, as they often do, to take a little trip instead of going back to his district.

Check with the Clerk's office and find out if he and Brad went on another CODEL...they LOVE to go on those together, and now's a great time of year to do the base visits, you know, EUROPE...Italy, Germany, the UK. Waste of taxpayer money, but they are first in line as often as not, if it's a "fun" trip.

Isn't his Democratic opponent an openly lesbian woman? Maybe it's time for HER to ask where he is, to get the public wondering the same thing ...

10. Is being closeted and being a Congressperson a security issue?

Just asking. I have no probs with gay Congresspeople who are out...but does being closeted make one a national security risk for blackmail? Of course, being open about it is a big problem if you're a Republican and your Party makes political hay bashing Gays because your base is pretty much homophobic.

Is it a legitimate question to ask?
