Is anyone else getting tired of the Foley coverage 24/7? |
|
Yes, I agree it is a scandal and Foley should be properly investigated and punished. But, I'm much more concerned with our military in Iraq. Doesn't the media or the a$$ministration even care that 21 of our nation's finest were killed the first 4 days of October? It's way past time to bring the troops home. Even Warner has said we are losing Iraq. He should have said, we have lost Iraq. Hey smirk, sneer, and rummy, how are you sleeping at night? You must be so proud of yourselves. Look what your greed for oil has wrought.

They are putting their plans for Iran into motion and using this as a smokescreen... and it is again working. Also, we lost 13 troops in Iraq in three days. I agree the man is a scum and should be punished, but once again people are falling for the media spin.

They don't care about a smokescreen. They are going to do whatever they want. Some of us know about the Iran mobilization because we're political/news junkies, and know where to look for the truth. Most folks don't have a clue, so no smokescreen is necessary.
Their plan for Iran is continuing on schedule, but Foley-gate has nothing to do with it.

4. yeah...except for that it will bring the Repugs down... |
|
That part I like... But the est of the focus on it is getting to the disgusting voyeuristic, fake moral outrage level... They are raping 15yo kids (or at least threatening them with rape according to the RS article) in Gitmo... Not much outrage on that from those in the media that want to "protect children"?

5. it's not like they'd cover the soldiers getting killed |
|
If the Foley scandal wasn't around, so it's a moot point.
Sure, it would be nice if we had a real media but we don't.
If they want to go into a frenzy over a republican scandal, it's OK with me.

as witnessing a train wreck. Of course I am on an intellectual and political level more interested in the Iran Debacle, the roll over Congress, and the deaths of our boys in Iraq and the people who are suffering in Africa, Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, etc. But I do find it oddly tittilating in a prurient way...

8. No. Because it shows the GOP as hypocrits. As Randi said yesterday, |
|
what does it take to wake up Amuricans. Not lying about a war. Not torture. Not rolling back the Constitution.
If this is what it takes to capture the Amurica's attention, then whatever ....
Personally, I'd like to cover 24/7 the 10 Jul mtg that Condi didn't know anything about, but now does. Why Ashcroft starting flying private jets before 9/11 etc.

A Democrat an independent and a Republican are on the Titanic when it hits the iceberg. People are screaming, the boat is listing and all hell is breaking loose. The Dem says,"We've got to save the chidren." The Independent says, "F*ck the children." And the Republican says........
Think we've got time?

There's plenty of other coverage. This merits lead coverage for, oh, about another two weeks. Then a quick reminder that kids are being slaughtered in Iraq after being molested by Repukes at home, and that should pretty much put the Repukes into the ash heap of history. This couldn't have happened at a better time. Thank you to whoever finally nailed this nazi prick's ass. So to speak.

This story involves the word "penis."
Republickers are stupid, simple creatures with very few buttons to push in their brains.
They repsond to the penis button.
If we want our troops to come home, we have to keep shouting about the penises.
Penis.

Think of it this way-Al Capone was thrown in jail for tax evasion. He did much worse, but simple tax evasion was enough to bring him to justice and stop a murderous criminal.
Until you remove these criminals from power, the killing will not stop.

Did the Republickers care when they took the country by a Diebold-assisted coup?
Have you seen the bumper stickers that say, "So glad I voted for Bush! Thank you, Florida!"
The Republickers KNOW they cheated... and they don't care!
So, no... I'm not going to get tired of this.
EVER.
I want to beat those fuckers over the head with this over and over and over until they crawl back into their trailer parks to sit in front of the TV watching cars go around in circles.

Who put their own aspirations and selfishness ahead of the people, and those who allow FEAR to trump principle. Does that make me a "terrist" now? You mean I have to agree with EVERYTHING here to be considered part of the group? "Either you are with us or against us?" Is that it? I put principle first because I am an American first. When a Democrat in Congress finally grows a set of balls and really stands up to these bastards, I'll agree with that. OK? Even Al Gore took them all to task... Is he a "terrist" too then? I won't be surprised if that day comes soon enough, and it will be because BOTH parties in Congress were complicit in it.

I get my news here, not over at the Corporate Media.
I figure this should run another few days, then we get a week and half (at least) of Hastert crap before he resigns, then the fallout from additional charges surfacing. Should bring us right up close to the November elections, if the timing works properly. :)
