what does or will it take for people to understand
that the republicans are liars, thieves, and hypocrites?

Almost six years of dealing with this shit, and people are still supposedly wandering around wondering?

God damn.

Republicans are liars, thieves and hypocrites.

1. americans are stupid?
Maybe Americans are just stupid? Maybe the vast right wing media has convinced them we're the worst option? Which is ironic, seeing our party has the most war heroes..

people are propagandized to the point that they don't have access to the truth, but

a lot of them don't care. In fact, they like it. Many Neocon supporters imagine they too could be in on the action.

The Neoclowns are all about corruption. Bill Moyer's great show on PBS last night (Capitol Crimes) pointed out that their goals were/are simple: they want to be in power and live like kings. And they are willing to do whatever it takes to get that.

There are some creepy people in this country who admire the way the Neocons have conned Americans out of their money and votes, preaching morality while robbing the collection plate. Trying to appeal to these admirers sense of decency won't work. They have none.

6. Exactement!
The real question is why don't people care.

Yes, I saw that show last night and it finally hit me that the reason this crowd is so disdainful of government is that they assume that all public servants reflect their own cynicism and blatant greed! They start off with an entirely distorted and perverse understanding of human nature, assuming that everyone is as greedy and cynical as they are themselves.

While I do not believe that some people are "good" and others are "bad", I believe that most people are capable, through personal honor, and genuine love, of making decisions that are not strictly in their own narrow, personal interests.

4. I caught some life long Republican woman on C-Span
the other day. Lives in Florida. Retired. Probaby about 70. Sounded smart and in good health. Said it was silly to not vote for Republicans because of this page scandal. Yes, it's bad, she said. But the Democrats will have us on the road to socialism.

SOCIALISM??? What the fuck? Apparently she still thinks it's 1973 or something. She hasn't noticed the broken unions, the lack of health care, the jobs sent overseas, NAFTA.... She's living in some version of reality she decided on long ago and SHE AIN'T leaving that reality. She thinks Republicans stand for fiscal responsiblity, not doubt.

Beliefs often have nothing to do with reality.

7. This Country Deserves What It Gets
I will have ZERO sympathy for this country, and the long term repercussions if the majority are too STUPID to SWEEP these guys out of office CONVINCINGLY. Not by a less than Diebold proof margin, but SIGNIFICANTLY and UNMISTAKENLY!

Otherwise, when the SHIT continues to hit the fan, and the country really sees what pain is all about, it probably still won't make the MORONS understand what the fuck is going on.

The longer this goes on, the less and less I see myself staying in this country for much longer. Honestly, if a religious one-party Theocracy is where the U.S. is headed, I don't really want a part of it. Not sure where I'd go, but I would keep my options open. I can't imagine being thought of as a citizen of a FACIST Dictatorship that is Ridiculed and Despised by the world.
