Could The Execution Of Saddam Hussein Be The Pukes Oct. Surprise ??? |
|
Just entered the room , turned on the tube, and heard some mention of this possibility by Matthews.
And even if I heard it wrong...
Would the pukes be baiting us to come out against it?
Could they use it to fuck up the vote once again?
Just curious what y'all thought.

1. The execution of Saddam will create a blood bath in Iraq |
|
I don't think that's quite what they're wanting right before the election.

4. The verdict on Saddam's first trial has been posponed. |
|
It was due October 16, but the judges want to review new evidence. A verdict isn't likely until at least the end of the month.
Barring some highly irregular and questionable events, don't expect Saddam to hang this year.

5. At this point, I don't think it would be as widely received |
|
If he would have been executed back when a lot of people still believed this administration, I could see it being a "gain" for them. The war in Iraq is a failure and now a lot more people believe it was all bullshit.
I wouldn't put it past the pukes to think it would be good for them, but I think it would be just another failure for them.

6. Oh, man, forget it. . .the Sunnis will go all ballistic if this happens |
|
and will look at Saddam as a MARTYR. Particularly around Tikrit (he is, after all, one of their tribe)
Better not even think of touching this hornet's nest.

I would think Bush is preoccupied with keeping Saddam away from the Press; as much as Saddam is reviled, he could still make a point that the trains ran on time under his watch. People would then wonder who is the better steward: Saddam or George?

:nuke: He is a burr under bushco's saddle and at least the non- diplomatic base will cheer. The rest of us will suffer- I for one would like to know what was in the missing pages of the Iraq weapons declaration and actually hear Saddams side of the story.

18. I'm Talking About An Argument, Set-Up By Pukes... |
|
as to whether or not we should execute Saddam, as soon as possible.
With said pukes hoping the rest of us might wonder what the hurry is?
And then using our qualms against us.

|
An E-mail stated that the Iraqi's would be celebrating in the streets if Saddam go whacked. I still think Rummy and Reagan/cheney helped make the man and at least one of ours should hang beside him if he goes.

20. Saddam is on trial with six others. |
|
There were to be three trials. The verdict on the first one hasn't been decided. I suspect there will be appeals. These trials have been quite strange from what I have observed. The US is not trying Saddam and his fellow defendents, Iraq is doing so. How does anyone in the US "know" that Saddam and his fellow defendents are guilty of the charges in the first two trials?

where they find a guy guilty and hang him the same day. I would reckon it would be years before Saddam is executed unless he dies of something else before that.

23. At this point, his death will only be a sad reminder of how unworthwhile |
|
the whole benighted misadventure in Iraq is. It'll maybe give 0.01 percent of the true knuckledraggers a bloodlust hardon enough to get them to the polls, but as for the rest of the country, forget about it.
And I say that as a depressed cynic!
